Obviously this isn't a perfect world, but if it were I would hope that Star Wars would be the thing which bring fans together instead of driving them apart. Alas, sadly, there are too many differing opinions for that to be the case -- even among those of you who work hard to bring us these sites and inside SW info. While I don't condone any of his actions (flaming, defamation, or spreading "soilers"/aka fake info, etc.) here, before that stuff I have seen a lot of folks here say a lot of negative things about him and get away with it. One can only take so much before they pop-off. Which doesn't excuse deliberately passing fake info under the guise of real info, or attacks on people here, be they commenters or TPTB. Just trying to be fair to all parties, if he violated the rules or otherwise acted the fool, he deserves whatever punishment which has been passed down.

 

No world is perfect if any being said there was they are liars, the punishment stands.

Listing to MSW podcast, apparently Phasma has been added to more scenes than what Jason previously seen. So there is no way Luke could have been added to a scene later. Come on the aurora of bull poo reaks so strong at this moment.

 

I just can't wait to finally see the movie in front of me.
Then we all enter the new star wars times. :-D

 

Guys. There is another trailer. The 2nd trailer we all have seen is known as the "family" trailer. That's why it was filled with all the punch words like "father" "sister "and "home". There is a darker trailer that was to be released . Disney intervened.
I know some people who work at certain places and they were shocked when they saw trailer #2. It was completely different from the trailer they saw in progress and was thought to be released.
Also Luke's presence in this trailer was described as "misleading" to the films content

I think the idea that there are other trailers is a bit blown out of proportion and is a bit of a misunderstanding of how the process of creating teasers and trailers works. As someone who used to work in the industry I can tell you that there typically is multiple concepts and scripts for trailers and promos. Not only that but, every trailer has multiple iterations and some change drastically from the original cut. It wouldn't surprise me that some people saw something completely different at SWC than what they were shown prior since there might have been 3-4 different concept trailers before they decided on this one. Some of the others might make appearances later on down the line for other marketing promos, but until they do no one can be certain that they are really out there. Bob Igard (sp?) the president of Disney said that he saw close to 50 iterations of the trailer. Whether that means that he saw 5 different trailers but 10 iterations of each or what ever the number is. The fact is that editing an impactful teaser for such a film is not an easy or an over night process. There are lots of decisions that are made. There are multiple stages of approvals needed for this type of thing as well and each step of approvals carries it's own revisions.

Below is a simplified version of how this typically works.

1. Concepts and scripts are given to editors. Some times a rough story board is built.
2. Editors then create rough cuts for each of the concepts. These rough cuts are typically close to a finished trailer. They may have place holder graphics, music, and V.O.
3. Rough cuts are presented for approvals. The chain of approvals can go all the way up to the top or only as far as a director and producers.
4. Comments and revision are then sent back to editors to refine the trailers further. Possibility of even adding new concepts or entirely new scripts at this point.
5. Editors begin to refine and create more based off of the notes they are given.
6. Once again more approvals....

This process continues until all the people in the chain of command are in agreement and then a final trailer can be rendered out and distributed for its audience to see. This process can take weeks or months depending on the project.
