    That's a Hamill hand if I ever saw one. But if its Luke in the other shot...He loses the synthflesh, Terminator style, at some point.

    The kneeling Luke and Artoo scene isn't necessarily the same location as the burning of the village scene. Maybe the large round rock was CGI'd in to block the view of the huts?

    But if it's Mark Hamill, then that means that he shot more than one scene. MSW said there was only one scene with Luke. I interpreted this as perhaps only one scene with Mark Hamill was shot and the other scenes where Luke appears are stunt doubles, or a youger version in case those flashback scenes are true.
    But this would contradict MSW's report.

    The fact that the script is present, does that mean he will have some lines in this scene? Or would they use the script for something else other than reading lines?

    I think thats a big fire, too big to be a campfire. The figure looks to be consoling R2. Could be burning village or crashed ship?

    I think it's probably Luke mourning the deaths of his padawans. He is burning their bodies like he does with Vader's body.

    Unless this is supposed to be a location on Skellig set (supposedly Luke's only location) ..... I'm gonna take a shot and say no this is on Jakku after Kylo's rampage and he's late.... And he sees the result..... which means... Luke is there from close to the start of the film... possibly in the shadows following Ren's activities

    It MAY, may be Han who gets the "Viking funeral".
    It could also be Luke burning the body of a new TFA character who might not be in EP8/9.

    As for R2 and C3PO, I saw a few images of them in 2014 where they look a bit ragged & run down like they were in squalor for a few years.
    This is why I think there is a big scene then a long break: 10-20 years where all the main characters reunite or hook up again.

    I'm holding out for Mustafar. It was featured in Rebels. And if Luke is following Kylo around, and Kylo is the Vader worshiper he's rumored to be. Mustafar seems like a place Kylo might want to visit. The place Vader got chopped to bits.

    The surroundings don't look like Mustafar though. It's just dusty rocks not volcanic looking.

    I'm sure JJ doesn't want to revisit old planets. That's probably why we have a Tatooine clone. So your probablly right. It was just the first thought I had when I saw somber Luke and R2 with embers floating through the air. But I think its more than a campfire. Maybe the Aftermath of the Kylo battle as someone already suggested...
