Very powerful, toys are...very powerful.

 

There is no Rey, only Leaked Toys.

 

He may start fighting Kylo and gets injured and they switch off... she being the one with actual fighting skills.

 

Well the general speculative consensus is the sabre is found by Rey/Finn it goes with them to Han who figures its Luke's and they end up needing to see Maz to get some info on where Luke might be. Rey learns more about the sabre and does not really want it at that moment at least. Finn takes it and it is probably used by one or both of them before the end of the film. Rey brings it to Luke not because he needs it but because the sabre is either part of the means to find Luke or because they wanted to get it to Luke for a variety of reasons, Han wants to see him again, Leia wants Luke to get back to his destiny of training jedi what ever. Rey brings it to Luke. It is possible that as part of her training she builds her own sabre and does not need it. Or she keeps it or uses it for spare parts. We don't really know cause you know the movie hasnt come out yet.

Forgive me if this has been brought up before.

Has anyone considered the possibility that Rey is leias daughter by immacate conception? After the death of Anakin the force once again "strikes back" to fill the void and creates Rey in Leia. Would be really cool to see Rey be a new "Anakin" but done the RIGHT way, rather than her being a rhyme to luke or han, ect.

Perhaps her eventual arc even trails into the dark side...

I don't see the force meddling that much. I doubt JJ loves the idea of immaculate conception anyway, I thought it was cheesy the first time around. Completely unnecessary. There could be a chance that Han got Leia pregnant and she never told him about Rey. Or he knew she had Rey and told Han it was someone else's (but she's really his). I don't think Leia would think Rey was dead and her not be... she's too connected to the force. She knew Luke didn't die when the 2nd Death Star exploded. If Leia and Han are estranged, whatever drove them to leave Rey on Jakku, might have pushed them apart.

I keep reading about Rey being choked up and seeing the Exotic City and the lush forrest planet (Yavin?) as if she's never seen trees and bodies of water before... I don't think that's right. Maybe it's just been a really long time for her, or maybe she's actually been there before. Or maybe sensing someone's presence (Leia's? Luke's?) on the planet makes her emotional.

I think any Skywalker can be attracted to the Dark Side... they all have to fight its pull.

 

I think that if Rey was played by an actor from some other ethnic group like an Asian, much of this pathological need for her to be a Solo/Skywalker would not be there, and Finn's character would not need to suffer so much hostility.

I think you bring up a good point about being other possible explanations for Rey's reaction to the City. Perhaps, she was there when she was a child and then moved to Jakku by Han/Leia or even Luke to protect her? Although, not sure moving her to Jakku with no one else is protection...so, maybe Luke was tasked with "watching" her like Obi Wan did on Tatooine. Then, the teaser 2 image of Luke with R2, is showing Luke getting to the village massacre scene too late and maybe he thinks he failed his sister and Han by letting not only their daughter die, but at the hands of her brother? Just a theory.

 

I took the Luke and Artoo shot as him being by a campfire not at the village on Jakku. Could be almost anywhere with rocks.

 

Would certainly support the idea that Han and Leia are estranged. After all he doesn't believe in all those "hokey religions." Can't imagine he'd buy Leia's story about a force conception: "Listen sister, I've flown from one side of this galaxy to the other, and I've seen a lot of strange stuff, but I've never seen anything to make me believe that there's one all-powerful Force controlling everything. 'Cause no mystical energy field could have impregnated you. It's all a lot of simple cheating and nonsense."

 

Regardless of supposed leaked plots or whatever, I still want to have hope that JJ, out of fanship or respect for the OT, will not have Han and Leia separated or at odds with each other. I will hate to watch Empire in the future, where they exchange their love for each other, only then to think, yeah too bad it doesn't work out. At this point I choose to believe that IF Rey is their daughter, then she isn't with them for a good reason, such as for her protection or her choice to make her own way as a young adult.

 

Finn has the lightsaber not Rey!

What is the problem you have with what I said? I am only going by the official concept art.

 

To everyone else that is reading:

It's a non-sequitur. Like shouting at the artist or Rian Johnson (lol what does he know) that "Leia has the Lightsaber not Rey! It's in the trailer!" Hell, trailers are more important than concept art, though sometimes things are cut in the final edit.



The lightsaber gets passed around in the movie like it's the loosest person at the bar according to this filming outline.
