Visceral Games Star Wars Title

I hope it will be an Open-World game, I'd love to explore Coruscant. That'd be fantastic. But I don't have PS4 neither X-One. So I'll have to buy another computer(a powerful one) to play these new games.

 

Please DISNEY!!! Let it be 1313 reboot with a focus on open world bounty hunting. That would be amazing!

Either way Visceral is working on Hardline atm and it was delayed. I'm sure that they have separate teams working on both games simataniously, but with the delay they've most likely pulled assests from the Star Wars project to help finish Hardline.

 

Rumors at the beginning said that it was going to be an open world Star Wars game but current rumors are pointing at a bounty hunter type game.

 

Here is another rumor I saw awhile back about the Viseral game. I've never played the Unchartered games but have heard nothing but good things about them. And from what little I've seen of the 1313 game I'm hoping this will be true. But remember this is only a rumor.

It's time get excited about this game again!

Looking very likely to be a Han Solo version of uncharted. Glad that possibly some art and ideas in 1313 could live on.

 

I'm pretty positive after those hints that this will be a game about Han Solo, but how cool would it be to play as a new original smuggler?? A new character would give them so much more creative freedom. Though Solo's backstory is pretty wide open other than a few mentions in the OT now that the EU is not canon.

 

They could use it to build on why Boba is so keen on capturing Han (other than credits), it could span both pre and post OT...

I like the idea of looking at Boba and Han in a game, because the depiction will be more accurate to the OT than any Anthology film could be (new actor for Han would be necessary).

The idea of playing around with shields and sneaking around blockade fleets is very appealing to me... Can't wait for more info on this game.

 

So Visceral has definitely been hinting at their Star Wars game on twitter for a while now and it seems like an E3 reveal is imminent. But here are our clues.

Their twitter account has been posting a range of pics consisting of Han Solo and the Millennium Falcon. Boba Fett has also been thrown in there as well. One twitter user from the studio in particular, Scott Warner has been teasing extra hard.

My only question is if that Tie fighter is their game or from Battlefront. If that is their game, it really puts into perspective when the game takes place. Nevertheless, the link to the career job posting has one more morsel of information:

The most significant part of this is the game is still in pre-production. Most AAA games are on 3 year cycles where the production and post-production are the last 2 years. However, the game has already been in pre-production for over 2 years! This isn't exactly surprising though since they are telling a story from scratch. This means 2 things:

1) The story of the game has been being fine-tuned for quite some time. It must be a pretty in-depth story.

2) In-game footage likely won't appear at E3. But I wouldn't be surprised if we got a CGI trailer.




Now for my own fun. Visceral has been teasing some stuff on Han Solo and Bobba Fett. Well what happens if Josh Trank's movie script has been taken and morphed into this game, or at least part of it? That would explain all the Han Solo teasing and Boba Fett teasing. Anthology 2 comes out in 2018. What if this game comes out along side it? It could even be based on the movie??? If that's the case, then I wouldn't expect anything at this E3. If not, we'll know more soon enough!

 

The new news of the Solo Spinoff further suggests this game will be related to the movie. The timespan of release is within a similar time frame. The game could potentially release Winter 2017. But they may hold it off to release in conjunction with the movie.

 

I'm willing to bet that this game is another "You can do this or that" situation a la Knights of the Old Republic. Visceral may have chosen the former in this case.

(for the uninitiated, Bioware was given the option of doing "Attack of the Clones: The Game", or "a game set 4000 years before the films". They chose the latter and we got KotOR.)
