it's definitely a brilliant, ironic, and extremely sad moment for exactly that reason! yikes!

Oh, and I forgot to say, I appreciated how the life debt was not just Chewy's. Han took ownership of the debt he owed to Chewy. <3

I wonder if Mas Amedda, Sly Moore, Yupe Tashu, and the advisors from ROTJ are part of a "Dark Church of The Force" that worships the Sith and the dark side.

So true. He leaves this quite clear when he tells the Aftermath team about Chewbacca and their friendship.

Wait a minute... did you guys notice there is no mention at all of a certain lovable and resourceful astromech droid and a whiny golden protocol droid??

I was going over the book again to capture more details and from something that Mr. Bones said I noticed those two absences:

Maybe they had to go into hiding until Mr. Bones gets his personality programming, er...updated. Until he gets over that "enjoying evisceration" thing...

(How embarrassing is it that I didn't miss them really?)

I KNOW! Same happened to me!

I mean, I could understand Artoo being out of the picture since Luke would have taken him away with him wherever he went - as he did in ROTJ when he went from Tatooine to Dagobah. But Threepio?? From what we know from Bloodline, he was still at Leia's service when she was a senator. Or maybe Luke took them both as he did in "Weapon of a Jedi".

Just wondering about "Aftermath: Empire's End":

    - Will we still be out in the dark about Luke or would he be at least mentioned again?
    - Will the birth of Baby Ben be included?
    - Will we see Mr. Bones interact with Artoo and Threepío? (I would definitely pay to see that!)

i have a feeling there will be no Luke still ~ bah! hahaha
Ben being born or already born might be mentioned, but i'm not sure how much Leia and Han we'll see altogether. do we have any inkling?

and did i really not notice there was no Artoo or Threepio in the last one? ~ hahaha wow.
guess i wouldn't miss them in this one either.

I have a feeling all that will be included on a future book/comic/movie. ("The Path of a Jedi" or something of that sort lol).

Since she is supporting the Aftermath team to go chase Sloane to Jakku, I'm not sure if at one point she will go back to action - guess not, maybe just in the command field, not actually fighting. Looking forward to see the post-ROTJ part of "Lost Stars" that leads to Jakku.

I'll guess just for the sake of us H/L and Ben Solo fans something might be included.

LOL. I guess Mr. Bones has stole the droid spotlight on this trilogy!

part of me thinks that would be really cool ~ to eventually have some supplemental stuff about Luke and/or Luke and Ben.
but another part of me just really never wants to see it. just to know what happened and then imagine it for myself.

i hope so! i just wonder if we won't go back to focusing on Jas and Sinjir again since they will be out in the field, so to speak. i hope it has a good balance.
and even if Leia is still pregnant and doesn't give birth, we still get some vignettes of some kind.

i really like Mr. Bones ~ was surprised by how much!

Yeah, thinking a vignette, or a mention via some holo or such. Remember in the first one she was more of a PR propaganda person. Wedge I bet will be in it someway, and he is part of their circle, so Chandrilla may be part of the scenery.

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I think Brentin is the one who will bite the dust. Then Norra and Wedge move to Yavin to be next-door neighbours of the Dameron. When Shara Bey dies, Temmin becomes like a big brother to Poe. I wanna think they're still living in Yavin and Mr. Bones is taking care of them while Temmin is now Snap and he and his buddy Poe are kicking it with the Resistance.

Rae Sloane will definitely bite the dust. Want to think that she will kill herself Gallius Rax.

I was just wondering about the prologue and the epilogue. I have a feeling the timeframe when Gallius Rax meets Palpatine is around the same of the comic "Obi-Wan & Anakin".

So after hearing all the positive word of mouth for Life Debt, I finally bit the bullet and picked up a copy. I was still a bit apprehensive going in, due to the fact that the first book in the trilogy by Mr Wendig failed to connect with me(I just didn't care for the new characters, Sinjiir aside). I am happy to report that the second book in the series more than made up for the issues that I had with the first.

Firstly, as far as the characters go, this time around I actually felt properly invested in all the characters. Norra in particular grew into a much more interesting character this time around, I definitely felt for the issues she was going through, especially with what happened to her poor husband Brentin. I also thought that Wendig did a wonderful job handling the movie characters, he especially seemed to have a firm grasp on how to write Han Solo.

Also of note, it seems like Mr Wendig adapted his writing style somewhat for this book, it reads a lot more smoothly than Aftermath did.

Overall, it was a great read. I'll probably go into further detail later, but its getting late and I need to get some sleep, just wanted to share my positive feelings on this book!

I am always glad when this book and these characters pick up new fans.

I can't wait to hear you thoughts on Mister 'I subdued him with violence' Bones:

I think that everyone that didn't enjoy Aftermath had too much expectation of it connecting with TFA. I'm reading it now, and I'm enjoying it so much. I like that I get to see Snap at such a young age. Norra his mother trying so hard to connect with him. The Zabrak bounty hunter Emari is wonderful in choosing sides that help her cause. Sinjir former imperial ( kind of a prelude to Riz Ahmed's journey in R1 haven't seen it yet just guessing) finally on the right side, and of course, Temmin's battle droid possible prelude to K2SO. I just purchased the audible cuz i want to hear how their voices are depicted. Anyway thats my take on Aftermath can't wait to see how these wonderful character evolve in Life debt.

Eh, my expectations were just fine, I just wanted well written characters that I could connect with(which I got in Lost Stars instead). I do think that some people may have been expecting to learn more about the lay of the galaxy post-RotJ, and were therefore let down in that department, but all I wanted was an engaging story. If you enjoyed it, power to you my friend, but don't be so quick to state why others may or may not have enjoyed the book :).
    --- Double Post Merged, Sep 2, 2016, Original Post Date: Sep 2, 2016 ---
I found him extremely entertaining. I would actually love to see him appear in other forms of media somewhere down the line(who knows, maybe Snap still has Mr Bones lying about somewhere ;)).

I also greatly enjoyed the interplay between Sloane and Raxx, I can't wait to see their confrontation in the next book. Also looking forward to seeing a showdown between Norra and Sloane. Lots of things I'm really excited to see in the next book as a matter of fact, both in the main story and in the interludes(I'm particularly interested in seeing more about the Acolytes of the Beyond).
