It could be deja vu all over again.

I just feel like the schedule is so much better set in December, but if they want to give us one May release, I'm okay with Han Solo. I just find it odd we have to wait almost two years for Episode IX after that. It will be a period of much speculation and concentration before we cap the end of another era of a Star Wars trilogy.

In a way, it would be back to normal.

They could potentially announce another spinoff within that timeframe or rearrange the schedule...I think that the schedule will change to become more consistent and specific with time

We shall see. Disney and Lucasfilm have a general plan in place through 2021 via Bob Iger's recent musings. Let's see how things progress after Rogue One and if it turns the tables in any way.

I'm genuinely worried for R1 in the sense that it would literally make/break the entire franchise in my opinion. It looks frellig awesome as a movie as a whole though. I think that since TFA, what these future movies will/have lack(ed) are Lucas's touch but then again, I grew up with the prequels, theatrically speaking on top of the SE original trilogy in '97 when I was 4 years old...Disney is what controls most of the distribution with LFL having free reign for production but I hope they continue with the traditional release schedule in the future once they find their footing collaboratively speaking.
