Young Luke. The first 19 years of his life must have been so boring. It gives me the impression that he was scolded by his uncle and aunt on a regular basis.
Don't get me wrong. I love Luke as a character. But you have to forgive me for thinking that his early years were a total waste. And that's part of his character development. He was underachiever on all fronts until he leaves Tatooine. Creating a movie of him accomplishing great things during his youth would totally break the character.

Agreed, that must have been the reason. However, I always wondered ... if they wanted to protect him and keep him away from the Empire's eyes, why did they allow him to keep Skywalker as his last name?
Not sure if this was discussed in another thread, but my theory is that this was done against Kenobi's will. Owen and Beru accepted Luke in their family, but didn't accept naming him Luke Lars, which must have been Kenobi's original intention. The Lars might have not grasp the potential risk and burden that came with Skywalker name, as they lived so far away from the center of the galaxy / imperial domain. Owen didn't do this for Anakin, but for Shmi. He had lived with her step-mom for several years and according to the Episode II novelization, he had very good relationship with her. He loved her and even use to call her "mom" if I recall the early chapters of that book correctly. So, although Beru reminds Owen that Luke has too much of his father in him, for Owen, Luke must have reminded him of her beloved step-mom Shmi Skywalker, and decided to honor Luke's grandmother's last name.
Although I still maintain than Luke's early years must have been pretty boring, the only thing that I'd really want to see would be the relationship between Owen and Kenobi. ANH made it clear that these two were already in pretty bad terms after 19 years. I can see them disagreeing in multiple things. Perhaps Kenobi's original intention was to take Luke to Dagobah for Jedi training at a reasonable age, but Owen didn't allow it. And for some reason, Kenobi was forbiddlen to use Jedi mind tricks on Luke's foster parents.
Not enough to justify a stand-alone movie, but it can still be portrayed as a small cameo either in Rebels or the Young Han Solo movie (Han may visit Tatooine for Jabba/Mos Eisley reasons, Chewie may meet Kenobi for the first time, and that could lead to a small Kenobi-Owen argument in the cantina). So there is some hope there.

To me. Boba Fett and Yoda movies are not a good idea. The reason those characters are so beloved is partially because of the mystery that surrounds them. I have no problem with them showing up in supporting roles in other films but I don't need them to be a main focus of a movie. I'm sure both films will be done at some point, but I'm sure there are better projects that should be made first.

Boba Fett is likely going to be the next Star Wars Story after Han Solo. I wouldn't mind seeing a rivalry blossom between Boba and Han. I think that could be the best way to use him.

I don't want to see a movie about Boba Fett. He doesn't seem interesting enough to be the lead in a movie.

I've joked around with friends about the idea of a Boba Fett film set between Empire & Jedi, but done in like a Coen Bros heist comedy tone.
It actually follows a Jodo Kast type character (from the old EU), a sleazy low-rent bounty hunter that finds some old Mandalorian armor in a thrift/army surplus store and paints it up to look like Boba, so he can pretend to be Boba to up his fees and pick up chicks.
Word gets out right after the end of Empire that Boba has the largest bounty in history in his possession, right as this jackass is drunkenly bragging about being Boba in some dive bar and suddenly everyone in the galaxy is gunning for him, thinking they can steal Han for themselves.
Through a series of misadventures and coincidences, his path ends up converging with the real Boba and after several twists and some confusion, the imposter makes off with Slave One with the carbonite block on board, to Jabba's palace.
It explains why Boba is just hanging around, picking up dancers in Jabba's palace after already collecting his fee. Because he's some moron and not Boba Fett... and it makes the death in Jedi more fitting and amusing.
Post credit tease, Lando is talking with his contact who can get him into Jabba's palace for an outrageously high fee (as high as the bounty on Solo) and the final reveal is that the contact is the real Boba, who doesn't care who's side he's on, so long as he gets paid at the end.

This way, it's a Boba Fett movie, it un-kills him in canon, and yet he's still a minor role in the film and mysterious.

    (yoda 2)
Don't ever want to see a Yoda origin film. I like the mystery of the character, his unknown full name, species, homeworld etc. It is good to have a mysterious character such as Yoda of which we can imagine about, without it affecting the accepted canon.

I'm not inclined to say go picture on Rogue II: The Sacrifice of the Bothans but I guess if the pitch is good enough.

I don't think I want an Anchorman goes to ESPN flick about the pod race announcer but maybe it could work.

I think I can pass on a Threepio, Artoo, and BB8 Three Stooges picture but maybe it works as a prequel with K2SO instead as long as Artoo is still "Moe".

I'm not sure the world is ready "Portions", the bittersweet tale of the mercurial chef on Jakku that makes meals for the likes Unkar Plutt.

No young Chief Chrirppa please unless it is the Baby Chirppa Adventures cause baby Ewoks are adorable as can be.

Do we really need "Reebo: A Star Wars Story"?

I'm just am not sure the story of a depressed, alcoholic blue elephant like musician working the lounge circuit missing his glory days of a steady well paying gig with a great band and his rage at the Jedi friend of Jabba's favorite decoration for ruining it all is general audience enough to be a blockbuster type movie as we are accustomed to.

Really, mostly I'm open to about anything if it is done well with a compelling story.

I don't want a young Palpatine film. For me, that story is covered by the Luceno book. If someone is interested, read the book. I don't think they can make a movie that good. And in case they do it, I sure as hell don't want some famous actor playing him. So no Hiddleston, even though I like him. I would just see Loki with short and dyed hair.

    I'd say now:

Boba Fett- though he could be interesting as a supporting character

Chewbacca- Chewie has a lot of history, but I don't want him to lead a film

Yoda- I just don't want more of him- it's okay to have some mystery. So be it if we see a younger Yoda in a TOR, but I'd still not want him as a main character

Vader- Again, we've seen he can be great as a supporting character, but he shouldn't have his own movie

Any prequel Jedi- If we got new Clone Wars era stuff, I'd prefer a different perspective than the Jedi

Obi Wan- Probably an unpopular opinion. I just feel like there is little left to show, outside of his own internal struggles on Tatooine. The comics cover a lot of this, anyway, and Rebels took away what could've been a compelling clash for him (and I do like that episode of Rebels still)

Used to think that but then I read Legacy of the Force's Bloodlines. He was the most compelling character of this whole series in my opinion.
