Anakin and Ahsoka Dueling!? Maz Kanata telling stories!? Sabine on Yavin 4!? Hype!!!
Though I do have some problems. Some of the character designs look a little odd, Sabine having her Season 2 design when on Yavin 4, and Rey going on adventures with BB-8, when they first met each other in TFA. Still, I'm really excited and this will hold me over until Rebels returns.

 

Well— I'm in.

It'll make for a great bridge to the SW universe for/between my daughter (age 5) and myself.

I think the marketing involved is absolutely brilliant. They'll be bringing in an easy (several) hundred dollars from me alone on this project, I imagine.

Looking forward to this, seeing our heroes again in all their glory.

 

As far as I know, there will be 16 episodes. These would be "shorts" of 3 minute length.

I read an article indicating that although the main objective is aim this to "novice fans" (their words, not mine), for the non-novice ones there still be lots of Easter eggs all over the place.

SW Forces of Destiny is targeted for July 2017. That's 3 months from now! I think it's time to enable a sub-forum Forces of Destiny under the TV Shows parent forum. This will allow for a more organized discussion. I'm sure folks would like to discuss each episode separately, as well as predictions and speculation. Thanks and MTFBWY!

I have really good felling about this show, it`s Filoni`s primary source to produce 2D, I believe it will look like The Last Airbender

I know, I know I sound like an old bucket.

 

And you're absolutely right. It is obvious that the main target of this cartoon series are young girls. However, just because it is female-oriented, it doesn't mean that boys can't enjoy it too. There were a number of cartoons that focused on women/girls/female teenagers (Powerpuff girls, Totally Spies, W.i.t.c.h.) that are liked by men as much as they were liked by women. So, you should give it a try, especially since they'll all be available for free on YouTube.

Sands of Jakku was a bit average, but I still have high hopes for this series. Bring on some more Ahsoka!

 

It wasn't what I was expecting, that's for sure. Would have liked it to be more than 3 minutes.

 

I am going, to be honest; I was never over the moon over Rey. I liked Daisy Ridley's performance in TFA, but the character was so half-baked and dull; a byproduct of mystery box storytelling and its negatives. That said, this short was fantastic. I managed to like and connect with Rey in this single short, then most of TFA. Ridley's voice work was fantastic with the animation. I also loved the use of the sand critter and it is a junk creature. Awesome concept and very much fits the spirit of what Legends did originally; expand upon small, cool tidbits from the movies.

And Rey's solution I found not only served her character but added to it. And her line with BB-8 was touching. So yeah, I know plenty may disagree, but I loved this short. To me, I can say that I like Rey. And I look forward to the next episode.
