    I loved this series initially. But I burnt out after 3 (which I actually loved being a fan of the time period used). But the games grew a little stale and repetitive for me. I wish they would take more time between sequels and reinvent themselves more.

    Think my favorite overall was Assassins Creed 2, (I do have a soft spot for the original though. I wish they’d go back to the middle east for one more interation) but they do blend together a bit.

    Have Black Flag and Unity changed things up significantly at all? I’ve been considering jumping back in, but I haven’t decided yet.

    I've played only 3 and Black Flag. BF you get to control a pirate ship and engage in sea battles, meet some famous pirates like Black Beard, and the open world is great.
    The modern day portion is just okay because you are first person walking around in Abtergo's office but you hack computers and such so it's kind of cool. I would recommend it over 3 even though I enjoy the Revolution time period.

    I played 1, and then got Black Flag early last year and was completely addicted. Tried 2 recently but never got that deeply into it.

    A new Assassins Creed game was just announced. AC: Syndicate.
    Syndicate takes place in the year of 1868 in London. With this games Assassin, Jacob Frye and his twin sister, Evie. It looks like a new weapon at your disposal will be some brass knuckles and a new form of transportation of a horse and carriage.
    I'm looking forward to this one which is released on Oct. 23rd.

    People still play these after the micro-transaction inclusions and terrible ports. The last one I played was Assassin's Creed 3, and fortunately it wrapped up the story before the series started fluctuating in quality.

    Origins looks so far behind what other current gen open world games look like. The detail on shown games like Anthem, Horizon Zero Dawn, Farcry, Spiderman, make Origins look like it should have been released on last gen. As a fan of the series I was hoping this year off they would update their game engine and start from scratch to get a better stealth and combat mechanics. But it looks like more of the same sadly.
