They will wait until Ewan Mcdonald is way older. That way he will resemble Alec way more.. Thoughts ?

    I hope it's just a standalone.

With make up and effects they do not need to wait, they could easily make him look older if they needed to for the story. As is, he is the right age to fall somewhere in that time frame. According to rumors/reports "inside info" they have plans for Obi Wan in the new trilogy and are waiting until that has been unveiled before announcing an Obi-Wan project (if they do).

I think you mean Ewan Mcgregor. As to your question, I think it deepens on when in the 19 year gap between ROTS and ANH they want to make it.

I don't think they should make an Obi-Wan trilogy, just a stand alone movie between ROTS and ANH.

I agree, he has been in four movies already and I don't think you could make a whole trilogy about his time hiding on Tatooine.

I have to disagree, but respectfully. I get that "over-saturation," could be a problem, but Kenobi was always one of the best part of the Prequels, as far as character and character arc are concerned.

Before Ewan is too old, one film could take place after "Attack of the Clones," but before "RotS," with Obi-Wan on his own little non-"Clone Wars" mission, or a solo mission--maybe Obi and some Jedi's we've never met.

As for those 18 or so years between "RotS," and "ANH," it's safe to assume Obi left Tattooine at least once, if he had to take the same "spirit quest" Yoda went on, to discover how to be a force-ghost. Ewan McGreggor acting out his "dark self," as Obi Wan could be cool, especially with all the doubt and fear he was facing, having seen his Padawan turn to the Dark Side, cutting him down/leaving him for dead, and watching Order 66 destroy his friends an way of life. I'm sure he had some pretty dark, lonely times.

As it is, a trilogy could really help show how Obi Wan got to his "older" self, and could better tie the two trilogies together.

Why do they have to wait that long? So that the story is set near the Original Trilogy timeline? Why can't they do an Obi-Wan Kenobi story earlier than the OT?

I don't think they should make an OB1 standalone film, Ob1 is my fav character so I would love to see new adventures. They should make a live action tv show. For now Ob1 is on Tatooine watching over Luke, so they would have to center the entire film on one planet, and that has not been done b4 in a Star Wars film, or show other characters like Leia dealing with the Empire during that time period. Unless, they take a different route and have him go on adventures off planet but then who is in care of Luke and the Lars family?

They could show OB1 fighting off Krate dragons, Tuskin raiders, traveling to the Toushe station, Mos Espa, or Mos Eisely but what else? Are other jedi like Ezra going to visit him, will they show a live action battle between him and Maul for those that don't watch Rebels? However they go forward they need a viable story thats entertaining and most people think that Ob1 living on Tatooine watching over Luke is boring, which i don't...

    Why?
What do they have against an Obi-Wan film set a few years after the Clone Wars?

There is some meat and potatoes in the comic series....I think it would be interesting to catch up on some of his actions as he is trying to stay low key and minimize his actions with using the force.

If they go along with the time period they are using in the comics then he is the perfect age right now.

I would go see a trilogy of Obi films! I'd prefer to see maybe some Obi Qui Gon team up on untold adventures before TPM. I would like there to be a trilogy of stand alone Obi movies though. Maybe each one set at a different time of his life with the last one colliding into ANH much in the same way R1 did. EM would be the perfect age for it then.
