SPECULATION Main Antagonist for Han Solo?

I don't keep up with spoilers anymore, but I belive there will be at least one Stormtrooper.
So I am hoping it is about Han dropping his shipment at the first sign of an imperial cruiser. With that goes everything else, being hired by Jabba, having some history with Boba Fett.
Orrr, Han meeting/freeing Chewbacca from Imperial slavery, and being chased by the Empire. And later acquiring the Falcon from Lando. It depends how young this young Han is supposed to be. This movie has to have Jabba in it.

 

I'm just hoping it isn't Boba Fett. He can't die in this movie and this wouldn't be very beneficial for the movie.

 

Maybe the galactic empire first, then a bounty hunter cantina fight scene, that's how they usually start in his line of work.

 

Jabba I guess.

 

I reckon we will see Jabba, and maybe Greedo... and possibly Fett. I also reckon we will see the Empire. But, I think the main antagonist will be a new character.

 

In general, I think the antagonist is going to be the Empire. I want to see Han's first issues dealing with the Empire

 

Boba Fett and Greedo would be the sensible guess, but I'm with @DarthFuller22. Something Imperial.

 

Wonder if they'll show him as an ex cadet.

I do like that story line of his, though, and would be all for bringing that back.

 

I've posted this before, but I'll do a brief rundown here:

Take into account that this retcons the (probably not even canon anyway) unfinished deleted TCW scene with Boba and Cad shown at Celebration.

Ideally, I think this film would feature Han working with Jabba as one of many scum in the Hutt's employment. At some point, possibly when trying to deliver the infamous shipment, Han meets Lando who is currently in trouble with the Hutts.

Anyway, I don't have the timeline down 100%, but I envision a Smokin' Aces kind of movie where Han eventually helps Lando escape several different Bounty Hunters: Dengar, IG-88s, Bossk, all the classics could be there. I think a Han/Greedo rivalry could maybe develop. I would not want Han to ever run across Boba- instead, maybe they could tease how they keep missing each other, kind of like how Anakin and Grievous never quite meet up in TCW.

Instead, I'd want Boba to have a mini-plotline where he's trying to usurp Bane as the most prolific bounty hunter (and ultimately succeeding.

So, ultimately, I think Bane should be the primary antagonist. He could have a personal reason for going after Han, so we don't add to the list of reasons Jabba wants Han dead. It also doesn't put a weird burden on the film by having to deal too much with Jabba, Greedo and Boba (or any of the ESB bounty hunters, for that matter).

Finally- absolutely have some of the ESB and TCW bounty hunters, but add some new ones as well. If the entire film is a cameo-fest, the GCCW will start to feel very small.

 

The more Clone Wars characters we see integrated into live action, the better. Rogue One did it with Saw Gerrera. Other standalone movies should continue the trend.

 

Definitely. Embo could be a good fit for this film, too.

And live action Hondo? That's be so cool!

 

That would be a great idea considering he didn't go for that career.

 

The Great irony of it all. Han leaves the Empire, only to be killed by his son working 4 it's successor.

 

I know he couldn't fun from it forever, empire rise & fall all the time, but the pursuit for vengeance against him by those in the background remain strong.

I really don't think it will be Jabba as this movie is before ANH and Jabba was still on good terms with Han and he hadn't put the bounty on him yet. Though I know they will never do it, I sure wish it were Greedo who was the primary antagonist as this would fit well with the story and give more deaph as to why Greedo was so looking forward to taking Han out.
