Disney could always digitize him and Ford would live on forever. They'd just need a body double. I think they've finally figured that out after what they pulled off with Tron....and we're over half a decade on from that.

Didn't he drink from the cup? I can't rememeber. Haven't watched Last Crusade in quite some time.

What? I think they could age up ford and re-cast shia and move it to 15-20 years later .

Considering what Shia's said of Spielberg and his directing for years now, I can't see him returning to the franchise.

Disney took about 20 years off of Bridges in Tron: Legacy. Don't put it past them.

Yeah, they'd be better to have another son out there with the hotie from Temple of Doom, named Indy of course, make a better choice for the role and let that guy chase after treasures stolen by the Nazi's for a bunch of movies.

The real problem with KOTCS was the production limbo it had been trapped in for some time. I didn't have a problem with Shia himself in the film, but the way he was written. We're lucky the film was even as good as it was after the 5 years of indecisiveness.

The problem with KOTCS is that people forgot this was a take on 1950s "B" movies, not 1930s serials. You can't do a take on 1930s serials set in 1957.

What? The formula was still present and it worked. The problem was the overall storyline. It was a solid film for the first two thirds, but when they left the camp we got CGI monkeys and stuff.

Hey now there's nothing wrong with cgi monkeys :p I think that Shia SHOULD be given a chance no matter what as Indy's son is really important within his life after all they've been through together and he seems to have really come a ways especially if you watch "Fury"

Personally, I liked Shia in Indiana Jones (NOT Transformers.) He did a really good job at playing the trying-to-be-tough-Greaser dude on a motorcycle. And he looked like someone who could be Harrison Ford's son (with the same characteristic long nose as Adam Driver.)

He got the job done in KOTCS.. I don't particularly like him but if the story calls for his character to show up even for a minute it would be weird if a different actor took his spot. Writing Indy's son out of the story completely would be weird too. What a shitty situation for the screenwriter to be in.

While I'm not a big fan of Crystal Skull it wasn't because of Shia. In fact, I found their chemistry (though I'm not saying it was electric or anything) to be one of the more interesting things about that movie. If he showed up in another IJ movie that would be fine, if he didn't that would be fine as well. I don't know all that much about Shia or his acting ability though as I'm pretty sure Crystal Skull is the only movie of his I've seen. Besides the opening 20-30 minutes of the first Transformers movie, before I turned it off. Once again it wasn't because of him though.

My opinion? A big yes. I really like Mutt character. Sincerely, the vets Winstone, Allen and Hurt they were far worst in Crystal Skull (not helping David Koepp script)
I like Chris Pratt in GOG too, a good entertaning film (although the second one is really really a bad movie)
In my opinion Shia is way better actor than Pratt. Shia has more classic presence in front of the camera, charismatic expressions like Harrison and dramatic skills. Prat is more like hihi haha humor cgi/blockbuster guy.

By the way, they can make a prequel to Crystal Skull (like Temple of Doom) to not show Mutt. And i would not prefer to see Koepp in credits again but... anyway

I'd include Shia in this film, but when it comes to future films I think they should focus on making films set between Indy 1-3 with a younger actor replacing Ford.
