Maybe he'd be a good villain.

I haven't seen Kingdom yet, and I can't speak to Shia's character back then...

But honestly, I think he's an incredibly underrated actor. He's gone a long way from the punk in the Transformer movies back in the day. Against all odds, he's actually an incredible actor now.

Even his apparent meltdowns have a pretty good artistic explanation. I know it sounds like a copout, but if you're interested in checking it out, this video does a good job of explaining his PR tactics

Basically, he considers himself to be a performance artist, and it's gotten him a lot of attention- both good and bad, but that's the kind of attention artists like him thrive on.

    That being said...

He might be much better suited to a Lars von Trier style of film than a mainstream Indy movie. Shia probably considers himself too cool for that type of thing, and audience members of the general public don't "get" him for the most part. It would basically be a lost/lost situation all around to put him into a major studio motion picture, and I imagine he'd be tough to work with on something like this.

While I think Shia is actually a really good actor, I think that ship has sailed. I don't think he nor the creative team would want that. Feeling is mutual, you could say.

When I visited Hawaii, the Lava Tour Guide told me Shia was contemptable, cruel, and harsh. Keep in mind my guide was a very kind and understanding person.

Not necessarily just that. I think he would like to avoid being type-cast and want room to explore and develop his ability in other ways.

I would not like to see him in a new indiana jones movie because in interviews he said he couldn't feel his character and then blamed it on Spielberg. If you are in a movie and can't feel your character maybe your just not that good an actor.

Personally, I would love to see a Disney+ series featuring Mutt William's adventures set in the late 1960's. However, given LaBeouf's offscreen behavior and the polarized fan response to his performance in Crystal Skull, I can't imagine this moving forward. I do hope that Lucasfilm someday figures out a way to keep the franchise going without Ford.

I think Shia Lebouf is toast. I never really liked him tbh, but his character in crystal skull was dumb. Now I don't think anyone would seriously hire him, even to walk their dog. I hope he saved some money.

Such a mistake to make him Indy's son.. i'd put Chris Pratt in there and make him Indy's other son with Willie
