To be honest, I don't think anyone signed up to a Star Wars message board will be missing any of these new films. But I might not give a hoot about them!

When I heard of the Solo-project for the first time, I thought, that I would skip it. Now, when it's coming nearer and nearer, I'm not sure about it anymore...

Never! The Star Wars Stories brand has potential for some of the most interesting, fresh stuff in the Star Wars universe. That said, I'm sure not all of them will get me equally excited. Rogue One took alot of convincing for me (the actual movie was great) and I'm still not sure about a Solo film. The the potential for this brand is huge, and I hope the success of Rogue One will convince them to take more chances with completely new characters (the Johnson trilogy might already be a sign of this).

I mean is there really any reason not too? I mean it's more awesome back story and extending the star wars canon and universe. I look forward to all the anthology films and will definitely see all of them.

I don't understand the default skip mentality.

I totally get seeing the trailers and being like this doesn't appeal to me so I think I'm going wait for reviews and/or word of mouth. This might be a pass for me.

    Or even

    This looks awful, I'm out.

It just seems extreme in general as I'll give almost anything a "well...if the trailers look good". The things I'm predisposed to are more like I have to be unsold or lost in too many choices that have a higher priority for my time and money.

I'm a movie fan though, it isn't some Herculean task to go to a theater so it is definitely more a why wouldn't see a Star Wars movie proposition as my natural state.
I'm going to very likely see something inferior (most often a lot of things) in the course of catching a few movies over the course of the year and a ton far less appealing than even my least favorite Star Wars movie at home.

You would think some people are getting married or buying a house for some and for many more a car or at least planning a vacation.

We are talking an entry level of ten bucks and a couple hours here. An investment for sure but a fairly modest one. I'm blessed that it is pretty doable proposition.

I will indeed skip Solo and most likely IX (as the first saga movie). A Kenobi movie with Ewan could probably bring me back, but apart from that, there is nothing that much for my taste to be honest.

At the moemtn I am more interested in them than Kylo vs Rey round 3. So nope, definitely not going to skip them. I am also pretty loyal to my favorite film franchises even if they go downhill (Hobbit, Harry Potter, Alien, Predator...)

Sometimes I wonder how Disney managed to estrange so many loyal fans. I mean come on even successful youtubers like Dash Star quit the franchise. How do you mess up and IP that is as powerful and well thought out as Star Wars??

The Anthology movies are a great idea! With them we have the opportunity to explore smaller-scale stuff and facets of Star Wars that the larger, saga films can't afford to spend time on. We get a fuller immersion into the Star Wars franchise through the side films; we get to branch out the culture stuff (Rogue One was great here), history/backstories (R1, Solo, Kenobi, Rebels - basically all these platforms does this), and just build a richer tapestry overall.

I loved Rogue One (K2, reused ANH shots, Leia, and expanded culture really did it for me here+the exciting story and ANH backstory; GREAT STUFF)
Solo is looking extremely promising (fresh style, new take on things, interesting characters and locations, and probably a smashing adventure story; looking forward to this!)
Kenobi would make a nice addition, although mostly because we'd get to see McGregor again in the iconic role. (Can't quite see what this film would be about, though, although I'm sure LFL would surprise us all)

I can't wait to see what the next batch of anthology films will be about :D

I will NEVER skip a Star Wars movie in the theaters. Even if I think it will be bad. I see 1 or 2 movies in the theater a year, it's not like it's going to break the bank, and I'm a poor teacher. Now, in a SW marathon at home? Something like R1, I would never skip, I might skip Solo for times sake, even though it is one of my all time favorites so far from an entertainment standpoint it is AWESOME, adding to the lore of Star Wars, it's not necessary to prep for the upcoming movie, which is when I do a marathon.

Unless a Movie extrapolating on OT characters journeys I might wait for DVD. While I like Mandolorian, I am not excited about it.

I think Disney dropped the ball and does not realize what made SW so good. By throwing away Lucas work and characters, they have thrown the baby out with the bath water.

The anthologies have been hit and miss so far. Rogue One is possibly my favorite of all the Star Wars films, but I thought Solo was terrible.

Would I skip them? No. I'm not one of these stuck up OT purists that think's I'm "above" anything since 1983. But I won't go see them just because they're Star Wars movies, either.

I'm an OT/PT/EU purist who hasn't really been ecstatic about anything since 2014, but I'm still not skipping any of the movies. ;) It's Star Wars, even though it's not as interesting to me as the stories that came before, I'm happy to sit and watch what other people have come up with. :)

I'm REALLY looking forward to RJs films. TLJ is a great movie other than the destruction of the canon Luke Skywalker. My understanding is his new movies will be all new characters and all new stories. He should knock that out of the park!

I'd never skip seeing a Star Wars. They are always great to see on the big screen and I wouldn't miss that opportunity.
