Anyone remember the highly anticipated video game Star Wars: 1313 that was cancelled after Disney bought Lucasfilm? Well, I certainly do, and based on what Kathleen Kennedy has said about the game in the past combined with the recent announcement of a live-action TV series coming to Disney's new streaming platform, I've put one and one together.

For those unfamiliar with Star Wars: 1313, it was basically going to take a more mature, gritty direction compared to past video games. It would focus on bounty hunters and smugglers navigating past the scum of civilization in an underground area of Coruscant known as Level 1313.

Not only does this sound very similar to George Lucas's previously rumored live-action TV series titled Star Wars: Underground, but this is what Kathleen Kennedy had to say about the concept art for 1313:

"It is something we’re spending a lot of time looking at, poring through, discussing, and we may very well develop those things further".

So, while the chances of this game getting back into development are minimal, taking the concept further and developing it into a TV series instead may very well be what's going to happen. I mean, Kathleen says that they're spending A LOT OF TIME looking at it. I think it's no coincidence. This has been in discussions at Lucasfilm for a looooong time. And like I mentioned above, it's very much in tune with what the Star Wars: Underworld series was going to be about.

Certainly, the live-action TV series would not take place entirely on level 1313 of Coruscant, but it would be a good starting point.

    Such a promising setting.

I remember reading that 1313 was meant to be about Boba Fett, and the unnamed protagonist we saw in the gameplay footage was just a placeholder. I imagine if that was the case, it'd be hard to pull it off now that Disney has plans to make a Boba Fett movie.

Also I feel like 1313 is too mature for Disney XD. Perhaps it's better suited for the streaming service, if anything.

I think the premise of 1313 is too good to be wasted. I've always loved the show Firefly and would love a similar series set in the Star Wars universe which maybe 1313 could fit

This seems ideal for a live action tv show. It looks like before the game got cancelled they already had an idea of how they wanted to take this. They also had a theme like you guys say withe the underground coruscant amd scum and villainy. I would believe in their archives they would have all the notes, drawings and models etc. This means they would already have a head start and they would be reusing an old idea which seems like what Disney are doing at the moment. This would have so much potential. It seems really fascinating to me because I know like nothing about underground Coruscant and I have limited knowledge of bounty hunters and other scum. This would be very useful to all Star Wars fans as this is an area everyone is interested in and is probably lacking in knowledge.

I feel pretty alone in this opinion, but I've never cared for this idea. It would be a fine game or comic. But to me, the seedy-underworld stuff works best as a part of Star Wars, not the whole. It works in counterpoint with the rest of Star Wars--with the politics, and the spiritualism, and the fairytale. The idea of a Star Wars show that focuses solely on the "scum and villainy" actually really bores me.

I've always been highly disappointed that the resources for this game didn't somehow make it to us. It was a lot of work by all accounts and it was very highly anticipated. Corporations always seem to make the worst, the stupidest possible decisions and go on to give us something incredibly mediocre until we kvetch loudly and bitterly enough. The Solo boycott was regrettable but necessary. Something had to be done, and what happened to 1313 was endemic to all of this and was surely prophetic in terms of KK's terrible decision-making faculty regarding Star Wars and what fans want. She's completely tone-deaf.
