SPECULATION Star Wars: Battlefront II General Discussion

I haven't had time to play any of the new content yet. I've only checked out the new menu and it looks lovely.

Well, here we go... Cosmetics-based business model, everyone...

 

The new menu looks fantastic, I agree with you there. Unfortunately, the look of the menu is the least of this game’s problems.

As for the cosmetics, my question is why there’s a difference in the skins and how much they’re worth. Like, how do they determine that the Boushh skin is legendary but the Endor skin is just rare? I don’t know... I have issues with how that works. It’s going to take me twice as long to get the Boushh skin, though. It looks great, but 80,000 credits is a bit ridiculous.

 

Ok so Starfighter Assault has finally come to Arcade. At long last we have an offline mode update, but it's a small one. I may give that a little spin just to see what it's like.

Still waiting for Galactic Assault though! It's just going to keep collecting dust for me until that happens.

 

I think they said that legendary ones have different voices. That's a... weird reasoning if that's the only factor that makes a skin legendary. I thought it's about how cool it basically is. But then who's to tell?

 

Ok so played arcade Starfighter Assault, it's pretty nice, better than the first game's one, albeit lacking a few of the nicer cosmetic details that game featured like the sound of debris cracking against the canopy, will have some fun with this, albeit really just as a companion to the first game - my boy and I now have, what 12 starfighter locations to fight split screen on at last instead of just the original's measly six or whatever it was.

But I do have to ask, how can I switch off the big "YOU KILLED..." and "20 FIGHTERS REMAINING" etc. pop ups? They really destroy the movie emersion I'm trying to enjoy by making it seem like a fairground stall. I've tried turning everything like Score Log off in the options menu, but they're still popping up.

 

Ah, okay! That... sort of makes sense? I mean, I feel like a skin should do more than have a different voice for it to be 40,000 extra credits (and from what I can tell based on Reddit posts, it’s $20 to buy the skin—I bought the first EA Battlefront game, with DLC included, on sale for that price). What I will say in the skin’s defense is it is pretty cool-looking, especially because most of us never anticipated a Boushh skin for Leia, of all things.

As it is, I never understood how they categorized skins to begin with. I’m pretty sure the Hoth skins are classified as common, but the Endor ones are rare (which makes zero sense because the Hoth skins were limited-time and the Endor ones aren’t). I could be mistaken, though.

I don’t understand their reasoning for some of the decisions they’ve made for this game (well, most of them, actually). I feel like the players could do a better job handling this game than the developers could, to be honest....

 

EA has now abandoned this game... such a waste of a great IP

 

Man, I feel like BFII has lost me. Haven't played in more than 2 weeks and I don't feel any kind of pull. All because of the recent luckluster updates and the leaks revealing that there's nothing substantial to wait for.

The lack of content corresponding with the new film is mind-boggling too... June is too late.

 

i dont mind the game but i feel like ea needs to put effort into it... make it creative, DLC's that we need and stuff like this. i just wish ea put a bit of creativity and spark into the game.

 

Is there a "Cantina PS4 community", meaning members from this forum who have joined on the ps network?

I have a unimportant question, but it's been bugging me recently. In the training level for Career Mode with Iden, they teach to you 'Shoot The Control Panel' to open and close doors, obviously kind of a funny reference to the movies. But that is the only time that comes up right? Seems weird that it was in the training and then dropped.

 

I played BF2 for like two days back when it was released. Have not bothered to pick it back up again. Should I change my mind or is it still a pretty sloppy shooter?

 

Wait till EA Play which starts on June 9-11. If nothing good is released from that show, I'd say move on. For me I'm just playing to get Leia's Boushh Disguise skin. Wanted to play Boushh from the first Battlefront game. I don't play as much as I used to but I do get the itch every now and then.

So June is nearly upon us and Star Wars Battlefront 2 Han Solo DLC Season 2 will be getting news and updates at EA Play June 9-11th. Plus we have two new patches - a hotfix coming tomorrow and a bigger patch coming soon to address other issues in the game.

 

SOLO

 

By the time EA releases the Clone Wars most people won't be interested anymore. EA will drag their proverbial asses on the Clone Wars season.

Most likely EA will release the Clone Wars just in time for Christmas. 6 long months from now...

Before the summer is over everyone will be tired of the Solo season. EA released ONE map for the Solo season and five hero skins.

Gamers will get tired of that in like a weeks time and move on to something else.

The Solo Season is released on June 12. It won't keep the communities interest for the entire summer. I give it just over a week.



The game play is repetitive and uninspiring. As a Star Wars fan I'm complaining because I wanted a better game.

Personally, I'm looking forward to Respawn's Jedi Fallen Order game set between episodes 3-4 which will be released just in time for EPIX

I hope Respawn puts out a good game so we can forget about EA and their Battlefront trash. I'm hoping that we can enjoy both games, but EA has been nothing but disappointment.

 

OMG yes, I'm excited about this!

 

I stopped caring about the game after TLJ. That film broke me.
But the Clone Wars announcement is really nice. The game is very buggy for me, but I will download it after the update and give it a go. I have to try.

I just wished there was a way to filter out certain trilogies.
