Compared to games today it does feel clunky, might be more to do with the N64 controller stick than anything else. I played it again recently and started to get motion sickness, don't remember getting that 20 years ago. Must be getting old!

N64 controls are incredibly clunky by today's standards. Try playing Mario 64 now.

I think they were noticeably clunky/wonky back then too. It was my main problem with the game at the time and is brought up in the contemporary reviews I've seen.

A lot of my Star Wars memories growing up surrounded the original Xbox. Star Wars: Obi-wan and Star Wars: Starfighter were favorites, as were the classic Battlefronts. I have great memories of those games.

I remember actually skipping school back in the day with a few friends of mine just to play co-op in Battlefront 2.. time just flew by when we were immersed in that world.

I do remember spending quite a bit of time with Rogue Squadron on the N64, and then again some with Rogue Squadron 2 on the Gamecube.

I will have to vote for generation 5 (playstation 1).

I played a lot ofthese games:

    - SW: Rebel Assault II (very limited but I loved the graphics).
    - Jedi Power Battles ( very fun and with cool graphics)
    - The Phantom Menace (just horrible, the graphics, the controls everything but I used to play because TPM was a fever back them, also the game.came with the Duel of the Fates video clip)
    - Masters of Teras Kasi (again I just play that because was SW...hahaha).

Also I played a little bit of Racer for Nintendo but the game was boring.

As someone whose gaming hobby rivals their Star Wars hobby, there's no competition: The 6th Gen console era was THE insurmountable golden age for SW Games, of which will never be toppled...a prospect that, with EA and Dice's offerings, only continues to endure.

I bought and played ever single PS1 and PS2 Star Wars game ever. And a few on the Gamecube (Rebel Strike, Rogue Squadron). And I still have them ALL!

Oh how I miss the days of amazing Star Wars games that came from the 6th generation. There is so much out there to be explored on the new consoles and EA just hasn't delivered. While I do prefer quality over quantity when it comes to my games, I really wish EA would give us more than just the Battlefront games and a few mobile games. I want a game where I can get lost in the story for hours and truly explore the Star Wars galaxy, not a game that I just pop into every now and then like I do with Battlefront 2 or hop on for a few minutes at a time like Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.

I feel sorry for current generation gamers, locked into buying games from the ever-terrible and out-of-touch EA, with its additional DRM, season passes.

That's not gaming. Gaming used to be walking into a shop, buying a game, then going home and playing it for as long as you like, whenever you like. Sharing it with your friends, and waiting for them to return it back to you because they'd lent it to another friend without your permission! (grr!) Never needing to pay any additional fees, signing up to contracts or having your console/PC online. And when you got bored of it, you could give it to a friend or sell it.

Yeah, ok, the graphics are better now, but the gameplay time is shorter, the games are easier and the games are now even more expensive than they used to be.

Gaming has certainly changed, and kids new to it (like my younger siblings) definitely seem to prefer the competitive online scene and the Battle Royale titles over deep, story and character given games.

And I wouldn't want to deprive them of that, but just looking at the pictures that @Darth_Nobunaga shared of the sixth console generation titles, I can't help but agree that we really have downgraded along the way.

Actually, games with rich storylines and engrossing single-player campaigns are still prominent in games, just not here in the West. Last year, we had a plethora of excellent single-player experiences such as Yakuza Zero, Nioh, Nier Automata and a whole host of others. Japanese developers still believe in pushing for single-player experiences because the online gaming scene over there is nowhere near as flourishing as it is over here. As such, while the Western game market is pushing more for multiplayer experiences (with a few holdouts, like Bethesda and Eidos), the Japanese studios are still clinging to story-centric and single-player experiences.

It also doesn't help that EA has only made multiplayer shooters with the Star Wars brand so far, and spending an atrocious amount of money to polish up the graphics on each entry, so that only one can come out every few years.

Back when Lucasarts ran things, they outsourced the Star Wars license to many outside developers, they could focus on numerous, middle-budget Star Wars projects at once----half of the games that I posted up there in picture format were released in the same year, 2005. That's what happens when you make less graphically-demanding and modestly budgeted projects and spread them out among different outside studios.

Disney, in their infinite wisdom, opted to give the Star Wars license to one publisher, who has a history of being unable to micromanage multiple studios.
