Hello and welcome to the Cantina! Your comment about John Williams has to be a first for me....but to each their own.

 

Just realized as a new member that I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Anna and I’ve been an avid Star Wars fan for a few years now. My first introduction to seeing Star Wars was the re-release of a New Hope in theatres in the late 90s. I don’t come from a family of Star Wars fanatics, I’m a complete anomaly, but I’ve always loved sci-fi and fantasy and being swept away on adventures. I really threw myself into Star Wars with the release of The Force Awakens, Rogue One, and The Last Jedi. I have to admit the latter put me off for a few months. I don’t consider myself a hater; but it left me disappointed and a hit disenchanted and empty. It was hard to feel jazzed up about the future of Star Wars after that, but Solo unexpected reawakened me. I’m much more positive and enthusiastic for what’s to come. So hi everyone I’m really loving it around these parts.

I've been a fan of Star Wars for years, almost unconditionally. My dad and I compete about which of us is the bigger fan (he has an unfair advantage, having seen every film at premiere since '77, a feat I can't match given age-related inconveniences), but outside of him, I'm pretty much the only person out of my family and friends whose relationship to the franchise is borderline obsessive. Episodes I-VI collectively make up my favorite film of all time. My gaming and comic hobby are attributed exclusively to getting started through Star Wars games and comics, and pursuing a lot of what inspired the original films led me to getting into a certain nation's history that may or may not have influenced the nature of my avatar. I also love the EU with a burning passion, along with Clone Wars & Rebels.

My interest in the prequels has been what's kept me off Star Wars messageboards for years, especially the latter fallout of the 2000's where the films and anyone who liked them were being ripped to shreds. Fortunately, enough time has passed where I (hopefully) don't have to throw up a SWAT shield when telling people that I liked the politics and world of the prequels.

I look forward to conversing with all of you very soon.

Long time fan here, for many years since the original Star Wars. Collected and played endlessly with the toys. Grew up, went to college (did film), wrote a dissertation on Star Wars. Not a prequel hater. Loving the new films from Disney. Flawed? Maybe. But aren't they all?

Realized I never introduced myself on here. My name is Todd and I've been a Star Wars fan ever since my dad took me to see A New Hope at the tender age of 2 when the special edition was released in theaters. I have been hooked ever since that fateful day and am just now starting to dive deeper into the online Star Wars community. I absolutely love the story lines, have seen the movies far more than I'd like to admit to any normal person, have recently started to get into the various novels that are in cannon (Thrawn or die), loved the Clone Wars and Rebels TV shows and can't wait to see what new shows Disney comes up with. I have also recently dove headfirst into the world of Star Wars cosplay and am hoping to have my first costume done in time for Star Wars Celebration (my first celebration) in Chicago. Looking forward to engaging in insightful and enjoyable discussions with many of you on here.
