So Luke got a girlfriend/wife without having a kid? Nah. Keri Russel's role will be a role in the "present time". I don't think we will see many flashbacks anyway. We don't have time for unnecessary explantion scenes (which are set in the past).

There are religions which say, when you die and go to heaven you take on the physical look of your "perfect" form. This could also explain the younger Anakin force ghost. Same is possible for Luke.

...also, I totally dreamt about Mark’s beard last night and came up with a fantastic reason for it being shaved now that completely changes how we see Star Wars!!!

But of course I no longer remembered the epiphianic revelation upon waking up... :p

The Crait scenes in TLJ were done once the principal photography was done on location - on stage in Los Angeles, if I remember correctly, because they were CGI heavy and required different look. As Mark can only show up as Force Ghost/in flashback, it isn't unreasonable to imagine the same scenario when all the heavy lifting is done, at the end of the shoot. By September/October he could have a beard again.

Yes, it makes total sense that Force Ghost Luke will have the same look as his astral projection on Crait! I did not think of this myself, and now I feel stupid... ;) And Yeah, a bearded Mark by September/October would be possible.

After everything I've seen and heard for Episode IX, I may not go see it at all and stay home. In years past, I would save myself from any spoilers and just go see it with the entire movie being a brand new Star Wars experience. But after The Last Jedi, I just can't trust the filmmakers and walk blindly into a Star Wars movie anymore. Instead of going spoiler free, I'm 180 degrees the other direction - I want to see all spoilers. I will wait to see Episode IX, if I go see it at all. I will see the story first, and what happens first, before I go see it. If there is anything even hinting at romance between Rey and Kylo Ren, or if the movie is heavy on Rose Tico, then I simply will not go see this movie, neither on Blu-ray or Netflix. I won't buy The Last Jedi on any medium. I saw The Last Jedi once, and that was all I can stomach.

If anyone would like to read my theory for episode IX, I put up a blog post about it on my website. It's probably been discussed already but for anyone interested, the link is on my information page.

I would not base what you are going to do about seeing IX based on anything right now. There has been next to none legitimate information about IX at this time. We know almost nothing about IX at this point. If you are concerned about it, following the spoilers is a good idea. Just make sure they are from reputable sites and not crap off of Reddit

I agree. I had interest until I saw Mike Zeroh. Stuff doesn’t sound bad but it is likely a steaming pile of BS if it is coming from Zeroh

I feel like most of what I will say has already been said, hence the reason why I prefer to keep my silence.

This is the time to go big and wide with the storytelling. It's the one thing left unexplored in the Sequel Trilogy. The Galaxy At Large. You've shown us the frontier, you've shown us where the money comes from. Now show us the heart of the galactic society - a world like Chandrila or a return to Coruscant - wherever the First Order feels should be the capital of their state. Show us how this all-encompassing conflict affects the common man in a more direct fashion and how this, in turn, affects our heroes. This is Rey's call to action and heroism - to become a symbol to the galaxy like Luke did and redeem the Jedi image. This is Finn's chance to empathize with those who are being crushed under the First Order's boot and (like him) taken away from their families. This is Poe's time to put his leadership skills to an ultimate test as the scope of their mission and available resources grows beyond anything Leia could have prepared him for.

I would love it if Lando had a big role in playing a political character responsible for mustering allies for the Resistance across the Galaxy. Given what we know of him from prior movies, that does seem like a natural evolution of his character. And as was mentioned above, I would absolutely love it if he was the one who recovered the Skywalker saber, questionable source or not. Give him one more go with the Falcon on screen, and a retirement into the sunset for both ship and the original captain and you're golden on that front.

I would go into detail about my thoughts on the First Order side of things - with Kylo and Hux, in particular - but I won't. I will say, however, that I was a tad disappointed with the direction they took the ginger general in Episode VIII, but there's still a lot of potential there to work with given that his rivalry with Kylo has only grown more vicious and volatile. What worries me is that his villain "legitimacy" feels decreased compared to the Force Awakens, so there's the off-chance that any Hux storyline, no matter how minor, falls flat. I hope I'm wrong on this.

@Alamact, yeah the villains feel flat since TLJ.
Hux was used for jokes mainly, Phasma was just there to fight and look cool and Kylo also doesn't have the "all mighty villain" feel to him.

This is the reason why Kylo needs to be freaking evil at the beginning of IX and Hux needs to betray the current Supreme Leader.

I didn't mind that Kylo's inner conflict made him less threatening, but Hux was basically reduced to a punching bag who didn't even have the most basic grasp of tactics that you're just left wondering "Why does this guy still have a job?" because surely Snoke had better "implements" to put at the head of his armada, no?

This is something I've been wondering about for the last couple of weeks, especially in the context of Incredibles 2 but it seems that this issue is also relevant hete - the need for scary villains. Why do people believe villains need to be scary? What makes a villain scary? Lastly - why on Earth are people so bothered by Hux in TLJ? I really don't understand, especially after rewatching The Force Awakens right before TLJ.
