BREAKING: Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy believes a Lando spin-off is next. "We think that the next spinoff will be dedicated to Lando Calrissian. Of course, there are still many stories to tell about Han and Chewbacca but Lando will be next." Hummm...

It seems her quote has been "adjusted" so to speak. Perhaps she spoke out of turn (not ready to let the world know they will be doing a Lando film?), but I would expect that, at some point, we get a film about Lando. It makes sense. Especially since people are really loving Glover's performance in Solo.

I'm not so sure we need a film based on a character. I guess it just depends what they are going to do with the RJ trilogy and with the film(s) being worked on by the GOT dynamic duo. I'd love to see something about the other force users/worshippers (like the Guardians) but that's just me.

    Wedge.

I would love to see Wedge and the rest of the Rebellion in a Band of Brothers style TV show. Maybe get Seb Stan in for a few cameo's as Luke.

I am not super interested in any of the Listed characters for a stand alone film.

I'd prefer a Mace Windu film, out of those listed, but I keep asking myself "why?" I like the idea of a James Mangold written/directed Boba Fett film, but other wise I'm not a fan of Boba Fett. We know plenty about all of these characters. How about we get something completely new? After the controversy of the last two films, I'd say they should drop the idea of ripping off the MCU plan, and do something different.

I think Disney should go with Darth Vader for the next one. I enjoyed the Solo movie but I think it was a bit geeky -- i mean, you really needed to be a Star Wars fan to get excited about it. Hans Solo is famous to us, but he's not one of the top tier characters that even non-fans can name (I'm thinking about Luke, Yoda and Darth Vader). Maybe that's why it didn't make as much money as they were hoping.

But everyone knows who Darth Vader is -- even people who live in a cave. So if they want a big blockbuster movie that's who they should go for.

And it will be nice to have a Star Wars movie based around a bad guy for a change

Didn't know where to put this, but with the announcement of a Boba Fett film, shouldn't that film get it's own sub-forum (or what do you call it), like Rogue One and Solo ?

Count Dooku. It will be hard to recast the character, but since Han was recasted I think it is possible. There are just so many things you can do with a movie. You can have his early days with Yoda or you could have his fall from the Jedi Order.

Charles Dance. Yes he's 70 but because Christopher Lee was 80 had full white hair I think you could dye Charles Dance's hair to be black with only a bit of grey around the temples and beard and it would look great. Most importantly though, Charles Dance has a similar face shape and the powerful voice. I actually did an art of younger Jedi Dooku and Padawan Qui Gon (but I kept Lee and Neeson).

None or any, depending on how you want to look at it.

Shouldn't the story you want to tell kind of dictate the appropriate character choices?

Maybe you need all kinds of established characters, maybe none at all, or anywhere in between?

I don't hold with the premises of starting out with a character and building from there UNLESS you have a particular idea in mind.
A scenario to put them through or something in their back story that begs to be expounded on.

Besides the answer I'll always give about Wedge needing to be a main character.

I'll say Qui-Gon. Something about the way Liam played him, he's always been a great character. Calm, nurturing, yet brave and a soldier. I'd love for his character to be explored more. Instead of just an Obi-won movie, why not a tale before E1, with both Liam and Mcgregor back together. They'll look older, but I think they can make it work.

I'd like a lot of them, but Vader would be cool, done right.

I think for masked characters, it's important to keep the mask firmly on. Have a few important supporting actors to convey emotion, but guys like Vader and Fett need to keep that stoic, faceless menace exude from their very presence.

A Vader movie where he first utilizes Fett, maybe even a trilogy that Fett comes back in the 3rd act. Now that Thrawn is canon, introduce him in the Vader movie, as a rival that Vader gets sent to the unkown regions. This could be a great build up for another trilogy down the road where Thrawn is the principle villain. A modified Thrawn (maybe add in that Chiss have longer than usual life spans, similar to wookies to explain his entrance after the ST) trilogy if you will. Maybe create a threat that only a few knew about... heck, even have Vader face off against Snoke, or at least discover him. Maybe even have the trilogy end where Vader is called off from his pursuit of Snoke to deal with this small rebellion uprising.

Having Vader as an anti-hero would be cool knowing he was Anakin. Again, it would have to be done right, showing Vader's ruthlessness. Wiping out the surface of planets, utilizing weapons of mass destruction, killing more Imperial officers for their incompetence (seeing the first one he does this too would be cool, as Moffs react and argue and the Emperor or Tarkin intervenes and takes Vader's side).

I think a Vader movie or trilogy would have a lot of potential. They could explore the sith, his castle, his relationship with Tarkin some more.... plus introduce new characters and threats around the galaxy, that could be developed further later on and made into spin offs of the spin off.

There was a popular theory at one point that the Empire was gearing up for war agains the Yuzhan vong. I'm not saying introduce the Vong, but maybe a similar threat. If they're bound on continuing the ST and that cast... having Rey and Kylo infiltrate Vaders castle and discover that threat anew would be a great launch into X and beyond. But I think a Vader movie (at least one) would be a required build up for that to have substance.

Imagine if they re-told the original Star Wars movie, but from the empires point of view — that would be cool.

Vader will have his mask on all the time, so that is okay, and they’ve already filmed tarkin with his original face in rogue one. Maybe they could do the same for the rebellion characters in the few scenes that will appear — Leias interrogation, Vader’s fight with obi wan.

Before Solo got released I always thought that if there was ever going to be a sequel to Solo, Cassian and K2 should have a small role - them meeting with Jabba... that would be nice :D Looks like we are not going to get a sequel to Solo anytime soon, so maybe we could have it the other way round.

The more I see Chewie, the more I want from him in his early years.
And after that snowfight scene with Han, definetly I want to see more from that wookie.
In Kashyyyk, spaceports, piloting ships, with other partners, travelling through the galaxy...

At this point we aren't getting any of this. Looks like they are focusing on wrapping up the Skywalker saga (until they decide to continue it), TV and the B&W trilogy. Probably a good idea as it seems that these stand alone films weren't all that well planned. I would still love an Obi-Wan film and a "bounty hunters" film but that ain't happening.
