Galveston - Meh. Pretty standard flick of this genre. Ben Foster is still great though.

Bleach (2018). I knew nothing about Bleach before watching, so to me this was a fun movie with a surprisingly decent cgi. Anime is probably better, especially since its 366 episodes and thus can better flesh out the characters. Still, I enjoyed the movie as it is.

Seven in Heaven (2018) - An alternate reality psychological thriller. It lost its way with the narrative halfway through, but it was thought provoking and decent. If would have stayed on a similar path as the first half of the film instead of going all crazy, then it would have been much better. Acting was good. 6/10

The Super - I hadn't seen Val Kilmer in a movie for a while. It is a good myster/thriller that surprised me by the end. Val who plays Walter is in more of a supporting role and I don't wanna give much away if you haven't seen it. It's set in a New York apartment building. Phil Lodge(Patrick John Flueger)shows up with his two daughters move in and is also the superintendent. And people start disappearing.

The end of multiple eras for the James Bond franchise and my sentimental favorite of the series. I just started up The Living Daylights.

The Spy who dumped me. I've run out of movies to watch.. please believe me :D

predictable, and not all that funny.
    2 positives:-
it filled a 2 hour void in my life.
Kate Mckinnon was delightful. i thought she was a shining light in the Ghostbusters reboot as well.

Slender Man - *in best Comic Book Guy voice* worst. movie. of. the. year.

The House With a Clock In Its Walls - A delight. Nothing too serious but some fun set pieces for Jack Black and Cate Blanchett <3 to chew up and have a blast in. Wildly surprising chemistry there.

I saw The VVitch today and I liked it very much. I like how November-y it felt with its muted colours, bad weather and the New England setting. I also very much like how much this film is about a father screwing up the life of the rest of his family by not being honest with them, something I'd have very much appreciated in The Man Who Knew Too Much. Also - I find it very interesting how witches have evolved from symbols of evil to symbols of female empowerment. Something to think about...

Last Weekend @NinjaRen and I watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them-I'd say it had some okay stuff in it, but it didn't light my fire. Weird thing for me is that the beasts were the weakest part of the movie for me. I thought the main plot was good enough and it didn't really need the beasts.

Acting… there was very little. Ezra Miller's performance was one things I liked... and I liked that Newt (Eddie Redmayne's character) doesn't have the typical hero personality. But then he tends to mumble a lot of his words, he's nearly impossible to understand.

Moreover I didn't like the ending reveal- I would have preferred Colin Farrell stay on in the role of Grindelwald.

Ezra Miller and his character are the best part of this movie. I would have loved to see more between the relationship of Credence and "Graves".

    xD

Ezra Miller would make a good young Kylo/Ben btw.

Yes, he's not really a hero. He doesn't really care about his companions at first. Kowalski is the one who is going through the Hero's Journey.

Let's hope Johnny Depp makes a good Grindelwald.

EDIT: The last movie I watched => New World
A good Korean flick about the fight for power. It kinda reminded me of Oldboy.

Last night, I saw Star Trek (again) and Star Trek Into Darkness (first time), and I actually thought STID had a better story than the first one (which was all about name dropping and introducing characters the fans already know). I must say, Star Trek is not my thing but these films are alright; SciFi spectacles with rather good acting at times (well, STID had Cumberbatch, so that's a given there). Did not much care for the insane use of faked lense flares, however, and the artsy swirling cameras were a bit annoying too. That said, I'm sure these speaks well to the fans, and they do look good :) More power to the Star Trek franchise!

Question: Karl Urban is deliberately over-acting his character, right? To make his performance fit the actor from the 60s? (If not, his acting choices are hillariously weird, heh heh)

I'm looking forward to seeing Star Trek Beyond tonight :D

Interestingly, I immediately thought the Colin Farrel was Grindewald (due to hair) and was very suprised in the end, that CF wasn't actually supposed to be him. The twist kinda sorta still worked, so yeah.

Okay, yes, to be fair the reveal at the end worked, for one thing, because I that reveal at the end had to happen, whether the one being revealed is Depp or someone else, I get that. And for another because there are these newspaper reports about Grindelwald at the beginning of the movie... yeah, maybe it's just I can't see Dumbledore falling for Johnny xD

Interesting! I'm looking forward to the next one and I'm curious about how Newt and Co.'s story is going to be balanced with Dumbledore and Grindelwald's story...

I have a real problem with describing my feelings towards Marnie. On one hand the behind-the-scenes obsession that Alfred Hitchcock had for Tippi Hedren is absolutely repulsive and the fact he ruined her career after she rejected his proposals doesn't make it better. On the other hand if you look at the film through the lens of Hitchcock's obsession it all makes sense and makes this film incredibly enticing to watch. I've never had to face a situation like this before.
