When do you plan on subscribing to the online streaming service Disney+?

  1. Immediately upon launch, there's too much great content to avoid. Oh, and because.. STAR WARS.

Although I said I would wait until I see the price tag, I probably will jump on it fairly soon after it is released. I'm excited for the original content, of course Mandalorian, but if they offer access to a vast array of Disney/Pixar movies and shows its a no brainer. We're a Disney family.

As soon as it becomes available in Europe, I’m all in. Well, at least if one of the below becomes available then.

Because of Clone Wars, the Mandalorian, Loki series …

We are too! And yeah, by most accounts it appears to be the plan to have Disney/Pixar's entire library available to stream.

I believe there is a 24-hour window to be able to edit your posts. Content locks after that. If it's a huge mistake, you can ask a mod to help you out to fix the error.

    Thank you.

It is only spelling errors - a combination of spellchecker and my own inattentiveness.

I just read that the monthly price point is expected to be $12.99 (USD).

On top of Star Wars content, there are nearly a dozen animated and live action Marvel properties in the works, Monsters Inc., a new Muppets show, a 10-episode adaptation of High Fidelity starring Zoe Kravitz, a bevy of straight to streaming movies lead by Lady and the Tramp, and a rumored Mighty Ducks reboot for TV. Right now, Star Wars content for streaming looks like: Clone Wars Season 7, The Mandalorian, Untitled Cassian Andor spy rebellion series, and the rumored Obi-wan series. There are also rumored Pixar projects that will exclusively appear on Disney+. They plan to roll out their service this fall with 500 movies and 7000 episodes of shows under the Disney umbrella, while maintaining a presence on Hulu and promoting other properties there. If you have Hulu, you're in luck since Iger is sticking by the plan to push all R-rated content onto Hulu from their newly acquired library to any properties to be developed later (see Deadpool, Alien series, etc).

Disney is also trying to expand their nonfiction and documentary content through their acquisition of National Geographic through the 21st Century Fox deal so expect to see new Nat Geo shows (probably nature) appearing on there. They will probably want to rival BBC's epic Planet Earth and Blue Planet series that will be premiering new seasons on other streaming services from 2020-2024.

For anyone trying to time when they'll join, we will probably learn plenty about their release schedule for new Star Wars, Marvel, and other properties maybe as early as Celebration (April 11-16) but more likely between Comic Con (July 18-21) and D23 (August 20-25).

The day Disney+ goes live is the day I subscribe. I love Star Wars and Marvel (see my avatar) and I cut cable years ago. I currently have Netflix and Amazon. I add HBO Now whenever Game of Thrones is on. Disney+ goes immediately to the top of this list as a must have. I need those new Star Wars and Marvel series.

Top option for me. Fortunately income isn't an issue, so I'll be a guinea pig for sure. Besides Star Wars, I openly admit to just enjoying a lot of the other content that will be on there as well. The Marvel stuff is also intriguing.

Does anyone know whether this will be available outside of the US?
If it is I'm definitely gonna start a subscription as soon as possible

Initially I thought that I'd mostly pass on the subscription, but now with the all-star cast (mostly) of the Mando series, TCW, AND the rumored Kenobi 6-part mini-series, I think it'll be as soon as they all start to air....now. ;);)

Disney + will be the last steaming service that I will add as my content provider. I have Amazon, Netflix, Hulu and HBO Now, plus we watch a ton of YouTube. I can watch Live Network TV on my TV antenna. I do not miss cable. I will be paying around $60 for these services. You add the fee of paying for Internet and Wifi, everything will cost around $140.00. I'm basically back to what I paid when I had a cable and Internet bundle package. At least I am paying for better content that I want instead of frivolous channels that I never watched. I'm looking forward to having the Disney + app. I wonder how long will they raise the price after their initial launch.
