I am with you in that I also don't like the direction of the ST, but I don't think her removal/firing/leaving for greener pastures means there will be a change in direction. As I mentioned earlier, she seems to have been replaced by someone who has an equally threadbare resume as what Kiri Hart had when she came to the story group.

@DailyPlunge I agree that both Filoni and Luceno ought to be creating. Heck, I think he should be writing something for us as I type this, but it seems that, for some reason, he hasn't really been tapped much for nu-cannon projects, much to my dismay. I realize he's done what, two books? But that's way too few for me. But I don't think heading up the story group would be too much for him to do while, at the same time, continuing to create. Heck, I'm not sure the story group has really done a great job with their duties as of this point. As @Darth_Nobunaga said, I wish Ms. Hart all the best in her future endeavors. I also hope her replacement is up to the task as well. If she does her job well, and the story group overall does it's job well, then we all benefit.

Hard to understand this. Yes the 1st book was mediocre, but the 2nd and 3rd were really good.

This post you made is an absolutely fantastic post. I had just one minor observation to add to the above....

If she was indeed fired - which I realize not everyone here believes so this sidebar discussion is geared only towards those who agreed that she was fired - then it begs 2 logical questions: Why was she fired and, more importantly, who fired her?

There's really only 2 people with the authority to fire her: Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy. (Lynwen Brennan may hold a more senior position than Hart held, but I highly doubt Brennan would be able to fire an SVP without Kennedy's approval). Regardless, the two questions of why and who invite a lot of speculation.
It's funny you mentioned that analogy because yesterday when reading those remarks I was thinking to myself "anyone that gets upset when other people get fired could never make it as a sports fan...." :D

Doug Chiang has been with Star Wars and ILM for a very long time so it is good to see him making his way up the chain.
