SW movies take us for pretty wild rides. Throughout, we've seen some pretty distasteful stuff and have been able to guess at how much worse things might have gone. Here's a thread to list in order what you've found to be the worse acts we've seen on the big screen in the GFFA.

I'll list what I can think of here, feel free to add your own if I missed anything.

    1. Star Killer Base: though not as heart wrenching as Alderaan, by sheer magnitude it has to trump all other actions so far.

    2. Alderaan: The destruction of a whole planet to prove a point is quite a bit of overkill.

    3. Death Star I and II: Definitely more defensible than Alderaan, these were bases of destruction after all. Still, not all those people on board were likely killers or military and it goes without question there were still a lot of innocence lost in their destructions.

    4. The younglings: Not much worse than killing a bunch of innocent kids who didn't even choose this life, but rather were chosen. Doing it by hand makes it all that much worse.

    5. The Sandpeople: The women and the children too. Horrid act, comparable to both the younglings and the DS's in that they did horrible things to people often, but there still had to be some innocence there. Maybe comparable to a misunderstood people fighting to keep their way of life.

    6. Leia's torture: This bleeds into Alderaan to some extent. Must have felt horrible to be forced to choose and see your family die. In fairness, Vader didn't know she was his daughter at this time. Drugs and interrogation could not have been pleasant under the Empire.

    7. Rey/Kylo mind rape: Rape is obviously always bad, at least Rey apparently got some positive side effects.

    8. Luke/Ben mind rape: People see this differently, but it's still an invasion of Ben's privacy. It seems to be a bit more than peeking into someone's diary imo.

    9. Leia and Jabba: Parading someone in a humiliating way and we can probably read into more stuff Leia may have had to endure while in Jabba's not so tender "care".

    10. Anakin choking Padme: As a father and man who was totally involved in the pregnancy of my child's mother, I take pride in how I pampered her through those months. To do the opposite seems unthinkable.

    11. Vader choking officers: I get that he's pissed, but honestly, couldn't he have just sent incompetent officers to Hoth to clean the garbage?

    12. Luke running: Leaving the galaxy with the knowledge of what Kylo is probably going to do is a pretty big fumble for Luke, probably the one person who might be able to stop him before Kylo acts.

    13. Vader/Luke: This is a twofer. Cutting off your son's hand to prove a point. Then a couple years later goading him to delve into darkness by using his sister against him.

    14. Lando: Selling out his friends to Vader to save his neck and money.

    15. Palpatine: Seducing someone form childhood to become your personal killing machine so you can attain your goals.

    16. Holdo/Poe: Though Holdo as the superior isn't beholden to tell Poe anything, the fact that she isn't known or trusted I think may at the very least have warranted an inquiry had this been a standard military, after the fact.

    17. Rose/Finn: Rose crashes into Finn to save his life. Maybe not vile, but definitely not well thought out considering it may have cost them both their lives while not accomplishing any goals.

    18. Luke/Leia kiss: It's been done to death, but more of a crime of ignorance than malice I think most anyone would agree. Now Obi-Wan not warning Luke, that's entirely different lol.

    19. Han/Leia kiss: They were arguing just before aboard the Falcon, though Han's off the hook because Leia seems okay with it, he certainly didn't know it was consensual at that time.

    20. Jabba and the dancer: Yeah, Jabba's pretty vile, so vile that he has pretty young women demean themselves then get eaten to death for the entertainment of his guests.

i'd maybe add Starkiller to 3. along with the Death Stars up there.
any of this kind of faceless planet-level mass-murdering is bothersome to me.

i'd add Snoke/Ben mind violation (i don't think "rape" is the appropriate term).
frankly, i'd just add "Snoke" as the number one bullet point on this list. XD

i'd add Ren mistreating Hux. man i really hate that.
i've literally had moments of not wanting to watch TLJ because of how much this offends me.
bad Ben. very bad Ben. : o p

from Rogue One, Cassian killing Tivik was pretty darn reprehensible.

there is definitely an overall regrettable tone of specieism throughout Star Wars from the treatment of Chewie to the disenfranchisement of droids.
most recent: Rey asking "who were those things?" re: the caretakers in TLJ. they are clearly intelligent beings and not "things", Rey. : o p

    from your list:
    • for 1., i assume you mean the Hosnian system?
    • 17. doesn't seem like a problem to me. careless? yes. but not really vile; the intentions were good.
    • also i think 18. and 19 are non-issues. at least for me they are.

Killing the younglings bothers me the most. As horrible as Alderaan and the Hosnian system were, they were mostly faceless. We saw some people on Hosnian Prime, I believe it was, but only briefly. Watching the younglings ask someone they trusted for help only to be killed by him.... Man, that gets me.

I don't know what #8 is referring to with Ben and Luke. Huh?

    Order 66

Oh and btw, cool thread idea but can we please refrain using terms such as "mind rape" on here? Like, for real.
