SPECULATION The quiet unnerves me

I think any studio with half a brain is trying to build hype... after a finished product, they KNOW, was polarizing--- despite anyone's opinion of TLJ.

Part of building this hype is "the wait game" --> Make people miss it again.

The fact that they have you, me, and so many others getting more and more excited is all part of the plan.

However...

Disney, in my opinion, has not had the best track record in the marketing lately--- more specifically with Solo. (whole other discussion)

So... it is possible they are completely oblivious to obvious marketing tactics.

 

The Film doesnt come out till December Aquaman Didnt get its first teaser Till SDCC 2018 and that was in July it also came it in December Of Last Year Also Solo Marketing was to blame for it being released in May plus it didnt have the Benefit of Celebration , There marketing is working if even the Toxic Fanboys are wanting something

Also, maybe wait until the seeing the end product before jumping to conclusions.

 

Also, Celebration is a few weeks away with a hour long panel.

 

And how do you know this? JJ never had to end something before, so we have no information on that.

I'm actually glad that this time we have lesser information about the movie. More fun in the cinema!

Usually all trailers "are lying". They are used to built hype and excitement.

I liked the SOLO trailers and the TLJ teaser is one of my most favorite SW trailers, only the TFA teaser and trailer are better IMO.

If a pattern works, then don't change it.

The movie will be likely about 130 - 140 mins long.

 

I agree within only one thing. I hate the quiet. I wanna know it all...but it's ok, cause I believe it will be worth the wait.

 

Chillllll... can't believe people get worked up about marketing campaigns and title releases. We used to get excited for Trailers/toys and the Movie itself. All you needed was a glimpse and then you would get hyped for the ACTUAL MOVIE. There's nothing to be concerned about. All movie franchises have great, good and so-so releases. I almost every Bond movie because I enjoy the formula! I enjoy almost every Disney Marvel movie because... SUPERHEROES that are a great cast. And I love the sequels because... MOAR Star Wars! Why do people gotta be a handwringing judgie worry warts? I remember wanting the sequels sooooo bad before the prequels we even announced, and now I've got them. Sure there's stuff that I like about the originals that I don't get from the sequels that a scifi lover thrives on... new ships, aliens, weapons, etc. And I feel the "friends fighting the bad guys" vibe isn't quite there... and it wasn't in the prequels either really. But I'm still hyped for MOAR Star Wars!

 

I saw a year's worth of marketing for Justice League, Transformers, Age of Ultron. They still were duds. So if anything the quiet exudes confidence for me.

 

I have had no problem waiting since about late January and kind of saw the writing on the wall when it didn't release. We all knew they would probably wait until Celebration for the title release of potentially the "last Skywalker saga movie". Just a little bit more waiting and we will know a lot more.

 

Where is that blanket statement “JJ never ended something before” coming from? People are aware that JJ Abrams has been writing films since the 1980’s and has more than a few stories with a very definite ending under his belt, right? Add to that the completed stories and seasons in several TV series he has written and produced ... and please don’t mention Lost... The man has created so much more than that.

As for the Ep IX news starvation, I cannot say I’m in any way surprised or that it is undeserved, considering how much of a whinge bag the fandom has been/continues being... I suppose the intention behind withdrawing information is to create anticipation, start with a clean slate and postpone the all very predictable pillorying that will ensue as much as possible...

It's the last Skywalker Saga movie; they're building anticipation.

 

Based on the snide and dismissive tone of your opening paragraph, this reads as nothing but a concern troll thread.

 

Normally I'd say they are in trouble if we don't get anything by Avengers. Of course, Celebration takes place just a bit before Avengers so I feel safe in assuming we will have title and trailer by then. Nothing wrong with holding things back for a while. Celebration is still 8 months in advance of release. I have no problem waiting another couple weeks and there's no evidence whatsoever of anything wrong.

 

Strong rumor has it that Episode 9 trailer will be tagged with End Game.
