Just my two cents, but the red light is just *a red light* - doesn't look remotely like the reflection of a lightsaber at all to me.
And the reaction of our heroes (to me) looks defiant/supportive - which could be anything from a "there, see, she has fixed it" right through to a "look, don't believe her? - she has a (Luke Skywalker's) lightsaber" .

Almost looks like Poe is actually holding the saber to me, but I'm sure it is actually Rey and it is just a trick of the framing..

 

plus: this might be a scene just between two takes and isn't even a moment while they are shooting.

 

It looks like a standard red light to me, from a droid, console.. or even equipment the crew is using.

Plus, millions of dollars are at stake here. I doubt this would have been allowed out if it spoiled a big twist.

 

That's what I think too. But their eyeline seems to be aimed a bit higher than R2. Could be R2 is in the scene, but they're looking at someone or something else.

 

Well... this was shown about a week before TLJ's release. They actually featured it on the official Instagram, too. I remember it being quite a thing, so close to the release of the film.

 

They're all reacting to it. It's not just a red light on a console. Plus, Rey has her saber ignited. An odd reaction for a standard red light.

 

Even with the still shot of the red light on C3-PO it is difficult to say whether it’s a lightsaber or just a red light. If it is a lightsaber, they don’t seem terribly concerned.

Rey is holding her lightsaber strangely. It seems like they are in a cave, so maybe she has it ignited for light?

Also, she seems to be carrying that gear we see her with in the teaser trailer when they are looking at the Death Star ruins.

 

To be honest this looks like a behind the scenes clip of a photoshoot. The way Rey is holding the lightsaber, it just looks a little staged to me. I think this is just a shot from one of those Vanity Fair shoots that they always do.

 

Well, it's a red smudge of light, so I am forced to assume zombie Praetorian Guards have been resurrected using those Palpatine bots from Battlefront, and C-3PO, who now holds Luke's spirit (Star Trek III-style), must battle them after Rey Force-tosses the Skywalker lightsaber to 3PO.

I mean, come on, people, it's the only logical option.

 

It's literally a red light. Could be almost anything, including a camera, or light/prop on the set. Geez.

 

They could be using the prop as a marker for a visual touch up much like the photo with Kylo Ren.

 

All I can see is a red light and Poe looking like he is getting yelled at by his teacher. I know that face well.

 

Those red lights are CLEARLY the reflection of a 1986 Volvo 240 backing up. This confirms the time travel theory AND the theory that the resistance values reliable vehicles over stylish designs. oh, spoiler alert, btw. ;-)

 

It can't be a behind the scenes shot... Unless they filmed this with real lightsabers that actually work on set this time around... ?

 

i think maybe Finn's face pretty much says it all. XD
