With the Kenobi series being talked about, and after an extensive conversation with @Anubis78 on the subject, there are SO many questions that beg to be answered.

I've always expected that the series would be set between RoTS and ANH and would provide the story of what old Ben was doing on Tatooine to protect Luke, BUT @Anubis78 mentioned that IF it were set (say) during the Clone Wars, that it would provide an opportunity to potentially see Ahsoka Tano in a live-action setting for the first time...and perhaps a return of Hayden Christensen as either Anakin, or depending on the timeline...VADER.

Moreso than anything, it could provide us with an opportunity to see a "Force-Ghost Qui-Gon" also...the possibilities are endless.

What's also been tossed around, is as it's reportedly a six-part mini-series, how about 3 two hour arcs at different times in TGFFA that are all linked into a single overall arc.

So many opportunities with this series...

    Thoughts??

I think 3 2hour spots with different time jumps. 1st will be right before the fall of Anakin. 2nd will be right after the rise of Vader and him taking Luke and Leia to safety with Vader on his heels. 3rd will be watching Luke as Old man Ben.

Multiple timelines? Maybe some kid Kenobi?

Yoda: Much anger in him. Like his father.
Obi: Was I any different when you taught me?
    Yoda: You are reckless.
Obi: So was I, if you remember.

    Just a thought.

The Cassian Andor series could also be a viable medium in which to see a live action Ahsoka since she was serving as a "Fulcrum" during this time.

I'd love a Kenobi movie, TV show or mini-series but it all seems to be vaporware for the time being. :(

I want the Kenobi movie/series focus on Obi-Wan's solitude on Tatooine. Yeah, we can have flashbacks to bring back Anakin and other characters, but for the most part it should stay in the present.

A while ago I had talks with @Darth_Ash about this topic and we came to the conclusion that this project should feature Mace Windu as the villain who turned mad. So, the time line is set shortly after ROTS.

That’s a pretty relative term here though, yeah? :D

I get what you mean. It should be anchored in a particular time. The most logical is whatever part of that 20 year stretch that would be the most challenging for the character. ROTS had Yoda task him with that rather weighty homework assignment: commune with undead Qui-Gon and suss out that pesky immortality business.

Makes sense that particular process would be immensely introspective. Forcing him to grapple and come to terms with the nature of his very existence and the life he led. I’d expect the narrative to span his whole lifetime. That’s just my expectation though. And those tend to get us in trouble :)

I wasn’t at all interested in a movie about OB. It would be forced to be some spectacle ridden action flick. I want an earnest and contemplative exploration of the man himself - who he was and what he becomes. A limited series would be ideal for that. I hope that’s what happens, but I won’t cry if it doesn’t.

So, with Bob Iger talking about a third TV show to premiere prior the Benioff & Weiss film scheduled for 2022, and with SWNN and others having heard strong rumors of a Kenobi production being geared up towards earlier this year (February, was it?), it now seems pretty likely that we'll get a Kenobi show for Disney+, right? I'd love that. I think there is so much one can do with the post-PT Kenobi, especially in a TV show.

Here's some general thoughts/brainstormings on the matter.

I would think such a show to have two tenses/story-arcs; one "present tense" set 1-5 or so years before ANH, and one "past tense" where some build-up or context is explored. In other words, the framing story would be Old Ben and the central story would be Jedi Kenobi.

The show would start out with a present tense situation where Old Ben, probably without Luke's knowing, saves the boy from some trouble. This would be an in media res thing setting up the central conflict. From there, Old Ben will realize there's a great threat to Luke and take the viewer down memory lane to explore the past tense ramifications of the current issue. (obi-wan 2)

The meat of the show will then be young Kenobi - Jedi Knight, investigating something or other around the time of RotS +/- a few years. This would see us back in Clone Wars/PT territory, with Jedi Kenobi in full swing. This would somehow lead to a realization important for the present tense framing story, showing us a reason why Old Ben is now very concerned for young teenager Luke. (obi-wan 3)

The mini-series/1st season would climax with Old Ben going on some damn foolish crusade for which he's getting too old for that sort of thing, defeating whatever obstacle & threat in the present tense times that looms over himself, the galaxy, and or his charge, Luke - the Son of Skywalker, well in time for him showing up in the desert canyon to save Luke from the Tusken Raiders in ANH. (luke)

This kind of structure would offer a very easy way of handling a deep and intricate Kenobi story and I have no doubt at all that Disney/LFL will find a way to pull something like this off, if indeed Kenobi is the subject of the 3rd SW TV show that Iger talked about.

    Can't wait :D

    *Shameless bump*

Other then Obi-Wan, a my list of characters and their actors that I want to see return: Qui-Gon, (he voiced in the Clone Wars) Yoda, young Beru and Owen.

    Spencer Wilding
as Darth Vader + James Earl Jones, obviously
    Ray Park as Darth Maul
Animatronics as Jabba the Hutt (yeah, I know this ain't gonna happen 'cause it'll be CGI all the way, but a boy can dream ;) )
Animatronics as Yoda (just reuse the TLJ puppet) + Frank Oz, obviously
    Daniel Logan as Boba Fett
Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo (yeah... this is actually a pretty weird idea as Han & Obi-Wan can't meet prior to ANH... right? Perhaps some cut-away cameo to set something up)
Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca (if Han, then definitely Chewie! And besides, Obi-Wan seems to almost know Chewie from their chat in the cantina... hm...)
Alternatively, possibly Woody Harrelson as Tobias Beckett in lieu of Han?
Erin Kellyman & Warwick Davis as Enfys Nest & Weazel (please, make it so!)
Paul Bettany as Dryden Vos; if so, also Emilia Clarke as Qi'ra
Donnie Yen & Jiang Wen as Chirrut ÃŽmwe & Baze Malbus (how awesome it would be to see Obi-Wan visit Jeddah before its destruction! :D )
    Ian McDiarmid as Emperor Palpatine
Joel Edgerton & Bonnie Piesse as Owen & Beru Lars
Lupita Nyong'o as Maz Kanata (talk about Snoke not having a backstory, I wanna see some young'er Maz on adventure. SO MUCH potential!)

Obviously, some of these characters could just as well show up in the Cassian Andor show, or even a future Solo film or show or other things, but I would not mind them having a role in Kenobi, too :D

I'd like to see Obi-Wan visit Alderan. Or if no Obi Wan on Alderan then a little Bail and Breha (on Alderan) dialogue.
I think Obi Wan should lose the jedi robes for most of this series. If he's in hiding then I'm not seeing him parading around in jedi robes a logical choice despite what we see in ANH. I know I know.

Yes, that's what I'd like as well. I thought J. J. Miller's novel in the EU did a great job portraying Obi-Wan after his exile to Tatooine and I hope the series cover the same time period as well. Would love it to be somewhat western-like and focus on the character transformation from Obi-Wan to the "old Ben" throughout the years; plus his adventures and challenges on Tatooine. Honestly, I don't want any other major original characters making appearances unless it's just a flashback or so.

Yes! An appearance by Liam Neeson in this series would be fantastic! At the conclusion of Episode III, Yoda instructed Kenobi to spend his time on Tatooine "communing" with Qui-Gon, and I can't wait to see what that would look like.

If Disney is willing to spend enough to lock in McGregor for this series, hopefully they can close a deal with Neeson. I'd love to see Qui-Gon appear in every episode, but will be content if he at least makes an appearance at some point in the series.

Could also be used to introduce: Force Projection.

As noted above, Yoda said he had "more training" for Obi Wan WHILE he was on Tatooine.

Now that its official, we know Ewan is playing Obi Wan and the series takes place approximately 7 years after ROTS.

My wild speculation of how this story could go is as follows:

At some point, Obi Wan believes Luke is the Chosen One. Did Obi Wan stop believing Anakin was the Chose One upon the events of ROTS? Maybe, but perhaps later events made him reconsider?

Thus, I think the first act of this story is the revelation that Anakin is still alive as Vader. This revelation may come through Obi Wan's commune with QGJ, who may still be able to reach Anakin. Obi Wan, believing there is still hope in turning Anakin back, attempts to do so in the next act.

In the second act, Obi Wan leaves Tatooine to find Vader, with much of this act setting up the meeting between Obi Wan and Vader. During this encounter, Vader learns of Luke's existence and Obi Wan realizes the incredible danger he has put Luke in. Somehow, this encounter ends in a stalemate. Obi Wan must return to Tatooine and Vader begins search for Luke.

Act three, culminates in Obi Wan preventing Vader's forces (Inquisitors) from finding Luke, all the while, Luke never realizes the danger he was in. From then, Obi Wan vows never to leave Tatooine again. It is also in this act that Obi Wan believes Luke is the Chosen One.

    It's 8 years.

Qui-Gon (Lian Neeson) should definitely appear, but he shouldn't be the one to tell Obi-Wan this. I kinda want an Obi-Wan who plays detective. He finds out about Vader's identity himself.

Obi-Wan and Vader can't meet before ANH. This would contradict and even ruin the encounter on the first Death Star.

"When I left I was but the learner. Now I am the master." - Vader

Furthermore Vader learned about Luke after ANH. This is canon.
