Daisy Ridley: "I think Rey ended Episode 8 with the thought that salvation for Kylo Ren is not waiting for him just around the corner, and I can safely say that Episode 9 starts from her with the same thought." (April 13, 2019 - Google translation)

At this point, that's as valid as anything else.

I was thinking that. If Leia dies, she will. It's been featured prominently, even in the trailer.

LOL, I was thinking that too, I just don't know how practical it is with lightsaber and blaster.

If JJ thinks it looks cool, he'll make it happen, practical or not.

I haven’t seen anyone speculate on this, but what if Rey dies? We all seem to assume if anyone would sacrifice themselves it would be Kylo which would lead to his redemption. But what if Rey does something that causes her death, but it’s the catalyst for Ben Solos return?

It would certainly different if she did. But I don't think they really set it up that way.

If you think they’ll send her off like that, you haven’t been paying attention to the actual social and political debate.
    Criticisms will be furious

selective editing of articles once again:

my poor translation: Is Kylo Ren lost forever? Not necessarily. Daisy Ridley talks about the status quo at the end of Episode 8 and the beginning of Episode 9. The actress' words were probably chosen carefully. Rey and Kylo Ren could find each other again in the course of The Rise of Skywalker. Because if Darth Vader in the classic trilogy has proved anything, it's that hope exists to the bitter end.

That's definitely a better translation than mine. Last time I tried to read German, it sounded Greek to me.

Article writers are irrelevant unless they are primary sources. I catalog quotes and contexts from questions.

Daisy Ridley: “Yes [I was surprised] and no [I wasn’t surprised by where J. J. Abrams took Rey’s storyline with Kylo Ren]. I was surprised because I had a meeting with J. J. like before the script had sort of become what it was – even though it was still moving pieces while we were filming – so I heard that then I heard something different and I was…and it was all sort of developing as we went and…so I was surprised but it felt for me very satisfying. Like in general I think all the emotional stuff, like the whole film it just felt really satisfying. Everything felt right. And J. J.’s so open to everything that if you have a thought about something, you have a conversation and you try other stuff.” “[In] The Rise of Skywalker…(smiles) that will be revealed [where things stand between Rey and Kylo Ren], I guess. Yeah [it will be satisfying]. It’s not like everything’s hunky-dory and so there’s contention there, but it is explored in greater depth.” “No [I don’t consider myself the legend of the new generation]. No way. The thing I think is so amazing genuinely about Star Wars – I was never a big Star Wars fan, so this is all...the love has grown exponentially in the last 5 years – I always thought like it’s never one person. Every single person…like Rey without Finn, Finn without Poe, Poe without Rey, Jannah, like everyone is so important…Lando, like people from 40 years ago are still as important and people that have arrived they still are as important. Nothing would be what it is without everybody else.” (April 12, 2019)

I get the feeling after watching TLJ again and reading what was posted above;that Rey and Kylo are kind of the balance and that together whether that's some Reylo thing, or a reluctant thing and they hate each other then they must stick together. They do after all have their minds bridged. So...kind of stuck with each whether they like it or not.

You just essentially described yin yang, "In Chinese philosophy, yin and yang is a concept of dualism in ancient Chinese philosophy, describing how seemingly opposite or contrary forces may actually be complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another."

These two images are essentially yin yang.

Mmm I don’t know... I’m personally getting the feeling that this legend, this “skywalker” in the title may not be a person, but a group effort. A group of people with conviction and leadership skills who could bring the galaxy into the future... Maybe this rise of skywalker is the rise of this group of friends (Rey, Finn, Poe, Rose, Jannah, chewie etc) so reliant on each other, as Daisy describes... The question may be will Kylo be part of this Skywalker concept? Or will Leia survive to be a part of it too?
