    If C3PO is going to play a larger part in this movie, it would make sense that his wiped memories would be restored. Imagine 3PO remembering everything that came before.

    Apparently C3PO's memories are with the Tantive IV and the mission is to get there.

    I kinda have the feeling R2 will get destroyed and then uploaded to the Falcon, like L3 in SOLO.

    Sadly I think some of these predictions may come to fruition. I don't think they're done "retiring" legacy characters. This could be it, for one if not both of them.

    Yes, with the exception that 3PO was with Anakin from the very beginning and saw his entire rise and fall...might be a powerful and sobering thing for Kylo to see and know, if those memories were recovered and fell into his possession.

    I have a belief that Palpatine "arranged" from Shmi to be kidnapped by the Sand People at the moment that she was. At a crossroads to sort of nudge Anakin a little further towards the dark side. It also would not shock me if he used Battle Meditation to help the Sand People defend all attempts at rescue until Anakin could do it himself. And on top of that...I can also see Palps using the force to keep her alive just long enough to die in Anakin's arms. Too many things had to go right...or wrong, to be a total coincidence.

    They literally did make a new movie...they bought it because they not only had a very close relationship with GL, but they probably felt that it was lucrative to move the franchise (plus others that LFL owns) in their own direction, which they did...they have already said that they have made back their investment plus more as of a year or two ago
