They already brought in one of my favorite aspects of KOTOR into canon.

There neutral nature was even referenced in Clone Wars.

Thanks for that! I actually read the article before I saw this post, missed the "honoring current obligations, including Star Wars" bit and came back here in a tizzy.

Saving that nugget for literally the last few words of the article.... c'mon man, I can't hold my breath that long!!

True that. Perhaps they lied, or perhaps they actually did intend to honor their SW obligations in early August but was put off by all the flak going around. I dunno. In any case, it's a shame that they are pulling out... :(

LOL I think they've jumped ship and are paddling away as fast as humanly possible.

I think this is where we have to agree to disagree. I defended them for a while; writing a show isn't the same as writing a book; TV is a different medium from books, etc... But I also said, as long as they stick the landing, it should be okay.

Here is the problem: they didn't stick the landing. They hacked it to pieces. By their own admission they admit they didn't really understand ASOIAF; purposely deleted the magical aspects (stupid if you ask me when adapting a fantasy series) and believe themes are for 8th grade book reports. Apparently they also insulated themselves from criticism, which led to the deleting entire plot lines. As George said sometime around season 5, "I don't put pointless plot lines into my story" or something like that. By essentially deleting the Dornish plot, Faegon, Lady Stone heart, etc... They made it almost impossible to get to the end point and have the story make sense.

Anyway, I'm a book reader and I have to say I hope Martin can complete the books. They are immensely complicated, and have gotten even more so as the story has grown.

As for these two, I'm glad they are out of Star Wars. Yeah, they did a good job when they had source material, but it doesn't take much to turn amazing material into a script. Surely we want/expect more from the creators who are working with Star Wars. I know I do.
