Which Force Ghost will appear, and to whom ?

That is Alec Guinness playing the ghost of Jacob Marley in Scrooge (1970), only a few years before he played Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars.

Agreed. OG Force Anakin was fine, but Hayden is someone the audience actually had time to connect to.

I get how longtime fans from the 70s and 80s have an issue with it, but anyone who newly gets into the series will probably more appreciate the sense of continuity (and better visual representation of Anakin's redemption) that this brings.

 

I"m an OG fan and I thought the Sebastian Shaw Anakin Jedi force ghost was always off... I mean, he never had Jedi robes in that older body... overthinking it I know. It also can make sense that Anakin returned after being Vader so he could be older Jedi ghost... I get it. But I like the idea of Anakin before he turned represented.

 

I will say, as a kid it took me way too long to figure out that he was supposed to be Anakin. I always wondered why there was some random dude with Obi Wan and Yoda.

Maybe I was just a dumb kid, but seems kinda odd, especially considering how Lucas intended for these to be kid movies. I mean, you never otherwise see him look anything like that, with the closest being when his helmet is briefly removed on the DSII, but even then it's obscured by makeup and his in-helmet harmonica thing.

So yeah, I'm with you, it did kind of feel off.

 

The jedi robes are symbolic.
It doesn't make sense to me Hayden as Anakin in the end if the face Luke's see in the end is the face of Sebastian Shaw.

There's no link between young Anakin and Luke. That's why I dislike this special edition.

 

But it's the SAME person... so Luke unmasks Vader... who isn't a Jedi... and then the force ghost IS.... so it reverting to Anakin when he WAS a Jedi makes sense to me... and Luke sees him as the Jedi he was... I think he would recognize that.

 

I think you may not have understood what I meant when I said that black armor Vader should show up. I said he should take off the helmet and it's unscarred Hayden. Vader is dead, but Anakin is appearing to Kylo with the armor to make the point that he can go back, showing that it's Anakin and not Vader when he removes the helmet.

It might also be interesting if Alec Guinness Obiwan appears to Luke and Ewan McGregor Obiwan appears to Rey. Maybe mix things up like that depending on who is there.

Leia’s goodbye shot is her becoming one with the Force. And then we see at some point as a FG. They use shots of her in that blue dress from end of TFA. Or if they were super ballsy, they’d use old footage from the medal ceremony in ANH, and just Force ghost glow on here, and drop her digitally into a shot. She doesn’t have to say anything.

RJ already killed her and brought her back to life, so, it’s possible she’s that strong with the Force. Unlikely, but still.

I think there will be some sort of Force Ghost group shot. Ewan fills in for AG (-and retcons Hayden’s ROTJ appearance Liam Neilsen comes back, Hamill, Hayden (sigh, thanks George), Yoda, (possibly mace windu for a killer cameo) and then Leia..

 

How about "artificially ageing" Jake Lloyd too?! I think thats a wizard idea. Yippee!
