You people have a taste! On the weekends there is nothing hotter than a cool Jägermeister or maybe two or three. Do you know Jägermeister? Or Hamburg City?

I loved my experience with Jägermeister a couple of years ago! However, I understand that it's an acquired taste. I tried buying one when I got back home, but the local ones are just ghastly.

I mostly stick to scotch or metaxa nowadays, though in my younger days, I was also a big fan of rum.

How many varities of Jägermeister do you know? There are already many in Germany. I like the spicy one best.

I'm afraid I haven't had the chance to try anything but the standard version. A lot of countries tend to distill their own take on a herbal liqueur. The Hungarians, for example, have Unicum - which is more bitter and has a citrus undertone compared to your average Jägermeister (though I hear in the States it's a lot sweeter than in Hungary). Now that I've mentioned it, I could really give Unicum a try when I'm in Budapest this Sunday.

Picked up one each of these. Not opening them just yet. It's a wee bit early. Especially for 7%ABV.

    Yesterdays wine tasting
    20190831_143625.jpg
First up a fantastic aged Chardonnay from the MACON

    20190831_143556.jpg
This was a pretty good Chardonnay from right here in the UK

    20190831_143645.jpg
I was a bit disappointed by this White ( The 1 on the right) it’s from the island Capri & it just tasted a bit washed out oh well at least I didn’t buy a bottle :p

    20190831_143911.jpg
Now this is a fantastic Pinot from south of Melbourne

    20190831_143915.jpg
& another fantastic Pinot from Chile the vineyard is only about 12Km.

    Lava Flow

You can find a million different versions of these drinks, but after experimenting, this is my favorite way.

Put fresh strawberries and several ounces of rum in a blender until smooth. You can use frozen, but I prefer fresh. Most use regular rum like Bacardi, but I’ve found the dark rum, especially Meyers, gives it a little different flavor that I like.
    3F70CBB7-3579-4095-BD2F-E1C1381D4837.jpeg

Pour an inch or two of that mixture into some clear cups.
    DBB31702-4DEA-4EB6-9B56-13198D99A4C3.jpeg

Rinse the blender and add a few bananas, a little pineapple juice, a few ounces of Malibu coconut rum, just a handful of ice, then blend until smooth. The riper the bananas the better.
Some would add coconut cream here, but all those extra calories and fat are not worth the slightly better texture. Coconut syrups and things like that also just overpower all the other great flavors, and then it just tastes like sugary alcohol. I like fresh fruit.

Hard pour the second mixture right on top of the first and you get a cool swirl and some great taste sensations.

These are fun to make, taste great, and like they say, your eyes taste it first, and if they like it more, you will too.
    87DAC6A7-3615-46AA-A392-D88105B78A0A.jpeg

Like other ideas I’ve posted, I don’t really use exact measurements. Just have fun with it. About the only way to go wrong is too much ice. It doesn’t take much ice to make a frozen drink.
