What happened to Anakin's podracing helmet?

I have his pod racing goggles....


They are actually the 3D glasses from the UK re-release of TPM in 3D in February 2012.
Episodes 2-6 were not re-released in 3D, as Lucasfilm was sold later in October 2012.

 

I think Luke keeps Owen and Beru's ashes in it.

There’s an alternate reality where instead of talking to Darth Vader’s helmet, Kylo Ren talks to child Anakin’s podracing helmet on the Finalizer. Maybe that’s where he gets this idea from?

 

Mom took it at the end of the race. Mom was actually not force sensitive, we're absolutely sure - but Mom is mom : she sensed, even blurryly, that something was to occur to his little boy.
Yesterday, just after the race, as li'l Anakin was dancing on the shoulders of that great Knight with long hair, and was loudly acclaimed by the crowd, Mom has got a little tear that has came out his eye. She had, shortly before, taken the helmet off Ani's head, and by now, she's nervously triturating it in her worn and tired hands, while in the same time an inner joy directly connected to his son's pure hapiness enlights his heart and illuminates her face...
... but you know, the best things always come to an end.
Today the sky is sad above his head. Sure, there are no clouds at all over Mos Espa, but certainly, the rain lies in her eyes and her heart. For several hours now, Mom is sitting in his little house, all alone, facing the table where yesterday, that knight, that young queen, and even that stupid amphibian were joyfully planning with li'l Anakin how to earn money... but today, only the dirty helmet still witnesses she once had a little boy, a little champion, a little king.
Today, everyone has gone, leaving her just a dark and cold silence as a new companion.
Flowers.
Mom needs flowers and colors to help her face that nightmare that comes back everyday.
Helmet leads to be a container, container leads to gather soil, soil leads to feed flowers, flowers lead to solace Mom... Mom everyday recalls her only li'l Ani thru his helmet.
The circle is complete. May Mom live in peace.

I would actually really love a story where Luke discovers his dad's old pod racing stuff. This would be a cool place to take the Kenobi series.

 

Kenobi: “That was your father’s podracer helmet.”

Luke: “My father was a Podracer?!”

Lenobi: “He was an excellent pilot, and a good friend.”
