Most likely, yeah.. we'll determine the actual stakes a little closer to gametime, once we see how this week pans out for both teams!

Yeah, sounds good. I'm hoping this weekend Haskins will finally get some momentum going. Hopefully I'll be feeling a bit more confident. Of course, it's the Jets so who the hell knows? LMAO

The problem is that it starts from top-to-bottom in that festering pit of a franchise. Throughout the season, I have never seen a team play so blatantly dirty than the way the Cleveland Browns have - there hasn't been a case for headhunting more obvious since the Bountygate days. Last night alone featured a cheap shot at JuJu Smith-Schuster; an ejection-worthy helmet hit that left Diontae Johnson bleeding out of his left ear; and the act that should legally be considered battery as it's so far removed from any context of playing American football.

How we got to that scuffle should be no surprise in hindsight, however: up by two scores, with the Steelers likely playing their last set of downs, the Browns elected to blitz the Steelers three times in a row, sending eight players to demolish the quarterback that they've already rattled and picked off four times over the course of the game. Unless you're purposefully attempting to cause an injury on your opponent in a game that you've already won, why the hell do you even call those plays? It's eight seconds left on the clock. Not even a completed Hail Mary, followed by a successful onside kick would threaten your lead.

Myles Garrett bashing Mason's head with his helmet is simply the culmination of a season that began with him throwing punches at Delanie Walker in the opening week against the Titans. The culture the Browns organization have instilled in their players or allowed it to fester in the lockerroom unchecked should be rightfully vilified. The team doesn't deserve Nick Chubb.

Yeah... I don't see it being a permaban but with all eyes on the NFL and this being a primetime game I think they break out a full 16 games suspension for Garrett (which would be unprecedented). He's out for 5 weeks minimum for sure.

Pouncey will also probably get 3 weeks but he should wear whatever suspension he gets with honor.
    Just about sums it up.

we had a soccer team in the eighties that actually had the nickname "The crazy gang" - that had a similar reputation. their captain was a certain Vinnie Jones.. who i'm sure you're all familiar with.

My issue with that team.. and what's happening at the Browns is that it will change the nature of the fans. The NFL need to quash this somehow before you end up with a sport that resembles what we have here in the UK. I can tell you now that it's a small leap from one team doing that, to the fans wanting the team to do it.. then you've got problems.

I don't know how suspensions work in the NFL.. would he still be on full pay from the Browns?

16 games may be unprecedented, but it still leaves a sour taste with me. in 2014 a soccer play called Luis Suarez bit into a player on the field in the world cup in front of the cameras... he only got a 4 month ban.. on full pay. this was his second biting offense.. he bit a Chelsea player during a live game the year before that and had a 10 game ban.

there's a line you don't cross, and Garrett crossed it.
my opinion on Suarez was that he should have left the field in handcuffs.. i feel the same about Garrett.

The Redskins are my favorite team in the NFC East. For an organization with such a storied history, that broke so many barriers and established such a strong reputation, it pains me to see it be so spinelessly apathetic under Snyder and Allen's stranglehold. Bengals feel similarly frustrating with their roster moves (or a lack thereof) - as well as their overzealous frugality, but I don't particularly like them. I guess you could say that I hate them the least out of my Ravens' divisional rivals?

To get back on track, there are a lot of amazing players to root for on the Redskins that I feel know how to build a damn good culture, but that's something that has to start from the top. Side note: I believe @TK-1204 is also a big Redskins fan.
Indefinitely suspended is the right call. Until there comes such a time when Myles Garrett learns to control his emotions on the field, he shouldn't be on the field.

Buried under this, though, is what I considered a very solid performance from Mayfield. He faced a strong defense and finished the last four games with just one turnover. I'm not particularly fond of Baker's attitude, but credit where credit is due - he's a lot steadier since the bye and a bit more mature in his media handling.

It kills me to see what Snyder and that idiot Bruce have done to this organization. You hit the nail on the head man. A storied history... a franchise that built teams the right way, had a great reputation has devolved into this... mess. I almost choked when Allen made that statement about the "culture is damned good here." What is that guy smoking and can he send some my way???

As for the Bengals, man I don't even know what to think about that franchise. That crazy frugality is just mind boggling. Obviously they can't go insane and spend money like it's going outta style but they can surely afford to spend some money.

I look at the Ravens and then I look at the 'Skins and think "what the heck happened to us?" Then I remember Snyder and I start to cry.

When the Browns visited Indy during the preseason for a scrimmage, Freddie Kitchens seemed to encourage his players to play extra rough and even fight while Frank Reich was insisting the teams go all out to avoid fights and potential injuries. That gave me a glimpse of what was to come with the Browns.

Not saying the Steelers are all daisies but it's always been something week in and week out with Kitchens' team.

Colin Kaepernick is back with his 'fro. Whole thing honestly always screamed like a PR charade and not at all related to getting Kaepernick back into the NFL.

Interesting to see a Chiefs scout attend this. Jets and Redskins showing up makes sense, though.

So far he's hitting receivers accurately with no pressure in an open field. I'm not sure how this translates to a real game performance, but he looks fit. He may not be starter worthy but... I wouldn't hate it if the Bears signed him to back up Trubisky?

So I’m assuming this was at his practice & not the Official NFL one .
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/american-football/50448708
So doe this hurt his chances of getting resigned to the NFL & did any of the teams actually get to see him practice.

If the teams didn't attend personally, like with the six scouts from yesterday, you can be sure that they'd give it a watch from home. The problem is that you can't infer much from this type of workout that accurately simulates playing in an actual game. At best, it seems that Kaepernick is in shape, still has elite arm talent - but you can't be sure if he can read opposing defenses or throw accurately under pressure - or even if he's still the elusive scrambler he was known to be.

That being said, given the scarcity of wealth in the quarterback position this season, with veterans starting to show their age or injuries ending their seasons prematurely, I would not be surprised at all if someone gave him a shot. Say, a team like the Bears or the Steelers. Maybe even the Lions, with Stafford being uncharacteristically out for more than a week. It's anyone's guess what comes of this, if anything, but unlike a year ago - you can make an argument for Kaepernick's return to league. Personally? I would still temper my expectations. The jersey sales would be immense, though.

As Al mentioned, they basically just tested him out like you would a QB at the combine. We know that he's in shape to play, but not much else.

It doesn't hurt his chances but I also don't think much will come from it. I don't think Kaep wants to play at this point anymore because he would lose the whole martyrdom shtick.
