Glad you liked it! I love that line you quoted too. They have quite a range in their musical style, from guitar/synth pop to moments of almost gothic punk at their hardest. But almost always very melodic.

It’s funny you mention Guns N’ Roses, as they have been playing/covering Sweet Child O’ Mine in their latest gigs, and they were definitely one of many influences upon them. Also mentioning their writing is a very good observation as they are very ‘wordy’ and literate in their lyrics, often mixing politics, literature, both ‘high’ and ‘low’ culture etc.

They have a really interesting history too - one of the band went missing after their third album and it had a deep and lasting impact upon the remaining three. The lyric writing on those first albums was particularly different I’d say, because there were the two lyricists. They have 13 studio albums now, plus loads of other miscellaneous b-sides etc.

I’ll stop there because I could go on all day about them, lol.

Heard this again and felt immediately compelled to re-watch the video on YouTube. If you have a spare 5 and a half minutes I humbly suggest they are well-spent...

From Wong Kar-wai's film of the same name.

Depending on who you are, it might sing you to sleep or crush you with emotions.

This... it's like Reznor and Ross took a leaf out of John Carpenter's playbook!

Rest of the soundtrack is awesome too!

Apologies if I've posted this before. But this is, hands down, in my opinion, the best version of Winter you'll see being played live on YouTube.

I’m getting an Orb (Toxygene) vibe off this.
