What System will you be playing future Star Wars Games on?

PlayStation! I've been with Sony since the twilight days of the PS2, and even bought a PS3 because I was excited about Kingdom Hearts 3 (isn't that a fun joke). I LOVE my PS4 and all the exclusive and story-driven games it has, so I'll be following Sony for the foreseeable future. And Nintendo, but I don't buy Nintendo systems to play Star Wars games.

 

PlayStation for me too! I’ve played Battlefront 2, Jedi: Fallen Order, and like 10% of the Lego Force Awakens game on my PS4. I vastly prefer it to playing on PC, because I hate gaming with a keyboard and games would constantly crash or not work properly on my old computers, or XBOX, mainly because I don’t like the controllers for those. Meanwhile, the PS4 is sleek, the controllers are great, and the menus are easy to use. It also has some really nice music when you first power it up. I have no complaints about my PlayStation, I love it!

In fact, I enjoy my PS4 so much that I’ll probably wait to get the PS5 for a while. After all, I’ve only had my PS4 for two years and I’ve had little to no problems with it. I’ll probably wait until they release a Star Wars game for the PlayStation 5 that I can’t play on the PS4 or if I start having problems with my current console.

I’m looking forward to playing Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga on my PS4 in the near future!

 

On Switch, I hope... We can only afford one consol and we bought Switch for Christmas, so.... Probably no Star Wars video game for me

 

At least lego Star Wars the skywalker saga will get a release for the switch afaik

 

Yeah, I REALLY want to try Jedi Fallen Order, but I can't justify buying another console just for that... Oh well, perhaps Disney & Nintendo will become friends at some point (not likely, I know). Perhaps I ought to try the lego game...

(My gf got her way with Switch 'cause she's majorly into Pokemon and such. Oh well, at least I get to play Alien: Isolation on it! ).

If you like story driven games, then Persona 5, God of War, Horizon: Zero Dawn, and Spider-Man alongside Jedi: Fallen Order will hopefully help balance the scales
And I've heard playing Fire Emblem as a couple has worked...

No problem @Angelman! Just to be clear though, the games I recommended were for the PS4, not for the Switch. Except Fire Emblem. That's a Switch game!

 

So these are all on Switch, though none are Switch exclusive:

Batman Telltale and The Enemy Withing (the second season of Batman) are pretty great narrative games.

You'll have access to Jedi Academy and Outcast.

Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed Rebel collection. ACRogue and III play out like the Star Wars prequels and original trilogies, respectively. And Black Flag is just a pretty incredible game in general. AC Odyssey is probably the one that leans the most into the RPG direction.

You've always got Skyrim.

 

Black Flag was my first Assassin's Creed game (I bought AC3, but the day I went to unopen it, my PS3 died...RIP all that time in Mass Effect 2 & 3...) and it's so great I'm totally fine with it being my last one.

I tried one of the Assassin's Creed games years ago, but to be frank... it was very dumb. I have heard good things about Black Flag, however, and, being a dabbler in Egyptology, the Ancient Egypt one seems very intriguing.

I played Dark Forces I & II back in the day, but Academy I never did. Are they any good by today's standard? (I get bored quickly with brainless shooters, heh heh)

I never played Skyrim (or any of the related games) but it is on my list. Not sure I can cope with all the combat (yaaawn), and I could never do games like WoW etc., but there seem to be a good story in Skyrim so we'll probably try it

Honestly, you need to open yourself to more possibilities. To use parlance that I am sure you will understand, imagine you are listening to a band that you like and they try experimenting with their sound. For example, Combichrist's more recent songs are more metal/rock than industrial; November's Doom decided to do more death metal and Klayton, the man who made Circle of Dust and Celldweller made Scandroid comparatively recently.

Would you say that all of the previous songs the band has produced is bad if it was simply the newer songs were something you could not engage with.

If you think that negative reviews of subsequent material are new, look at the following excerpt from a contemporary review of the Empire Strikes Back.

The Empire Strikes Back" is not a truly terrible movie. It's a nice movie. It's not, by any means, as nice as "Star Wars." It's not as fresh and funny and surprising and witty, but it is nice and inoffensive and, in a way that no one associated with it need be ashamed of, it's also silly. Attending to it is a lot like reading the middle of a comic book. Also, instead of thinking in such partisan terms as part of the Fanbase, why not explore what Star Wars means to you on a personal level.

 

I'll probably play any future Star Wars games on whichever platform has the exclusivity deal (if there are any), always feel like I'm missing out when I play games on the non-exclusive platform.

Yeah I’m in the same boat, I can’t play many Star Wars games on a switch. I recently did get all the doom games and have been playing through those. I also have a MacBook Pro from 2009, but it runs like s h i t and has to plugged in at all times because of defunctive battery. you should try doom though. It’s FUN

 

I played my fair share of Doom back in the 90s. While I was more of a Castle Wolfenstein guy myself, I did have some fun with Doom, too

Right now my gf is hogging the Switch playing Animal Crossing all day, so... no gaming for me But that's all right, 'cause I've got loads of writing I need to do anyway. I do hope to get to play J:FO at some point, though.

 

DOOM Eternal is sooo sick!!! BEST FPS of the decade. LOADS OF GORY FUN... what Star Wars games? BF2 is collecting dust on my shelf... EA DICE... SO SAD. Jedi Fallen Order was good...
