Once and I have no desire to watch it again in the near future.
I rather watch some movie clips on YT

I’m only at seven or eight right now (making it the Star Wars movie I’ve seen the least and the only one I haven’t seen at least ten times but that’ll change before long), two of which was in the theaters. It was actually the last movie I saw in theaters before COVID, which created an eighteen month gap between my trips to the movie theater.

I haven't re-watched it since it left theatres. I just find it's not the type of film you watch peace meal. It's also very emotionally jarring. But it still remains one of my favourite films.

If it's awful why on earth would you watch it more than once? That makes no sense to me.

It happens. I tried a few times with AOTC and ROTS. I was trying to like these movies but now I know that's impossible. I gave up.

Your attitude seems different from the poster I quoted. I get the impression that you went to see the film as an enthusiastic fan and wanted to like it. But did not find it enjoyable and gave it another chance maybe to see if you missed something or maybe with the passage of time you decided to give it another chance when your emotions had cooled or you were in a different state so you decided to give it another shot, but found your first opinion held. . Even if that is the case with the OP it should not take more than 2 two viewings to understand that the film was not for them. And the word choice they used that it was 'awful' (ie. disgusting) makes me think that they had a strong aversion from the get go. So I just don't get the point of repeatedly spending re-watching something that gives you a visceral dislike.

I don't re-watch films that I really dislike, In fact I have walked out on movies and turned off DVD's before the end because I don't find the film enjoyable.

I watched TROS 4X in the theater, and I own a digital copy as well, however; to finally realize its not my favorite Star Wars film I had to watch it several times. I personally had to let the excitement of a new Star Wars film wear off to actually critic it fairly, don't get me wrong I love Star Wars but TROS HAS SOME GOOD PARTS BUT SOME PARTS I REALLY LOATH. I might watch it again in a few years to take another look... Crazy Old Wizard indeed :D

It goes like this when, because of a fashion (or a submission), one forces oneself to like something one's inner self loathes.
That's the case for movies. That's also the case for some "private practices". That's the case when one buys a car bigger than an elephant, as the mankind is killing the earth - just because the neighbour himself has a big car. It's also the case with music hits that do not survive more than on month... it is the case whenever appearing takes precedence over being. "I MUST BE" and not "I SIMPLY AM".

You know : some people enter religion, or a sect.
And others simply go to the theaters watch what George said "hey, it's just a movie".

And that's fine. Life is too short to waste on things that you don't like.
But I think what others have said also has value. Sometimes a second watch is there to pinpoint feelings on specific things. I rewatched TLJ to try and pinpoint why the movie made me feel off. I rewatched TROS to make sure my first instincts about the movie were right. Other times I rewatch movies I don't know whether or not I like with the Director's Commentary in order to see what the director was trying to do. Knowing that may help me sort out how I feel about the movie. I did this with TLJ as well, and that provided me with even more answers than the first two watches! But other movies, I don't need to rewatch. I'm not going to rewatch the Percy Jackson films or The Last Airbender or Logan. I don't need to. I know what bothers me about all of those movies, and why I don't like them.
But I also try to look at many films not just as a viewer, but as a piece of art and as a creative writer myself. How does this make me feel? What is happening at this moment, and why? Are the characters in-line with who they are/were/based off of? Or is this a new interpretation? Does everything flow? Why? Why not? Why does this make me feel the way I do, and can I replicate it if need be?
Many of these thoughts go through my head while watching a movie. Sometimes it takes more than one viewing to answer them.

There are movies I'd never watch again ("Ad Astra", I'm looking at you), this is a SW movie. The second time was to pick up on a few things that I missed and the third time as I bought the BD-set and watched all the movies. It is, after all, a some kind of a SW movie.

That still doesn't make sense to me. I am an avid Bond fan going on several decades. Yet i have never re-watched the films I disliked. It serves no purpose.

Also given the popularity of a film and a massive fan base like SW or Bond there should be no reason I can't find that answer online. If there's a piece of information I need to know about the film. I'll go on Wikipedia , Quora or go to a fan forum (like this one) and ask it, or even just plug in the scene on YT and see if something comes up. But I am not going to spend my time re-watching something that I found 'awful' in it's entirety. Life's just too short. And it doesn't benefit me at all.

The Bond movies don't form a single continuity the way the SW movies do. And I think I'm the one who makes my own decisions on how I want to spend my time. However, I never watch TLJ which is just plain awful and which, I think I mentioned, isn't necessary. Also, TROS at least has Ian McDiarmid cackling the same lines as in ROTS and ROTJ.
