Here's a video for a tune recorded by the last band I was in (seems like a thousand centuries ago).

    Something entirely different

Just listened to the new Krhuangbin album. Didn't exactly blow my skirts up. But then they are a pretty chill band. Not really skirt blowers.

Love this song. Studio version synced with a live performance.

My songs have been pretty stagnant these past few months, but here are some of the highlights.

I like this version better than the original, but that's not surprising. Red is best when they go full metal or full acoustic (anti-metal? I lost the term here) in my opinion. I still need to get the full album, but I'm long overdue for a music buying binge anyways.

For all of you Hamilton fans that haven't listened to some of the first drafts/unreleased songs.

    Stormlight spoilers on this one.

Earlier this year Mike Shinoda - with the help of his stream chat - wrote a song. But he decided he needed some help on the vocals, and asked fans to create their own versions of the song. It's good and I like the medley, but it doesn't feel like everyone had a chance to show off what they've got. It feels more like a least common denominator sort of song, and that stinks. My favorite mixes are below.

Ai Mori's just a great metal singer overall. Her Linkin Park covers are probably the closest we'll get to Chester these days

There's anger in this song that resonates with me. That's probably not a good thing, but I won't deny it either.

Back to Linkin Park for a moment. Linkin Park is my favorite band, bar none (Nothing's Carved In Stone or Red are probably second). But I don't automatically connect with their music. It took me ten years to fully appreciate Minutes to Midnight; and while I still can't fully appreciate The Hunting Party, I can definitely relate to "A Line In the Sand."

Fik-Shun is a master dancer, and Dytto is a queen of her craft. This is before they hit their prime, but it still shows of their skills in a fun way. Dytto and Fik-Shun each try to outdo the other in their opposite's craft. It doesn't always work, but it's a good routine.

Great beat, great routine, and great concept. BDash's swagger - or in this case arrogance (by design!) - shines through his choreography. Meanwhile Jaja Vankova is brilliant in every move; she's the perfect blend of puppetry - she's lose like a puppet without strings, yet she's distinctly inhuman in her movements. To incorprate that into a routine as physically active as this one...I can't give it enough praise. I love it. If this video has too many cuts to enjoy the music and routine, I highly recommend watching the World of Dance live version. It's equally as phenomenal...I've been watching a lot of World of Dance videos these past few months...
