New Post Ratings

I love most of the new ratings, especially the negative ones. Snoke as "Trolling", Starkiller Base as "Unoriginal", Sebulba as "Rude" and Captain Kirk as "Off-Topic". These are all absolutely genius!

I feel more mixed about some of the rest though:

Why did you change the "Clouded" rating to Palpatine instead of Kylo? Palpatine is not a clouded character, he is the epitome of evil. Kylo is a much better representation of a clouded rating, weighing in-between agreeing or disagreeing. This was an unnecessary change. Also, while Han Solo being the "Cocky" rating is fun and all, it doesn't quite fit since the "Don't get cocky, kid" quote was referring to Luke. If I were you I would change the "Cocky" rating to a "Over-confident" rating and have Palpatine be the avatar of this one instead. Then you can make Kylo the "Clouded" rating once again.

 

Imo there are too many ratings now. I've always rather preferred a dual (like/dislike) system (i.e.: Reddit).

Also, I'm not sure why "disagree" is still an option. In my experince here, "disagree", as an eligible option often only discourages further discussion, as many times users just rate a post as such, instead of elaborating their opinions...

 

I *like* all the various options.

How do you give out ratings? Do you need to have a certain number of posts on the forum?

 

you need 30 posts and you just crossed the line, so log out and log in again. then you will see the ratings bars on the bottoms of the posts.

use the ratings wisely: with this power comes responsibility! : D

Great forum but 30 posts seems a bit steep before you can post an opening post.

 

Hey @Trevor or @Viral Hide , any chance of adding a rating or two to cover The Mandalorian? Although not sure what a "Mando" rating would denote ....maybe a "brash" or "reckless" post?

How do you find out which of your old posts have been negatively rated? My negatives almost tripled overnight. And it's not something I've posted recently.

One question here. We get an alert for receiving a "post like", it's fine and rewarding. But it only works for a "like". Could the alert be sent to us also for receiving a "great post" ? Because y'know it's even better to be given a "great post" than a simple "like" thanks
