I still love that they took a background extra from TPM and made him into one of the coolest Jedi of the Clone Wars.

I am giving the benefit of the doubt here. Ahsoka is at her best when she has relationships with other characters. The problem with this show is we have a “baby yoda” that apparently can only communicate through the force and The Mandalorian who is an introvert. This really doesn’t bring out the best Ahsoka has to offer. What made Ahsoka so popular in the Clone Wars were her relationships with characters like Anakin and Rex. Like most relationships, it will take time - especially in this show.

Yeah, Rosario's Ahsoka has definitely been through a lot. I don't think it's a bad change at all. I just miss Ashley.

They're a similar length in the E K Johnson book, the cover of which seems to be a more 'real life' interpretation of Ahsoka.

Rebels actually ended after the second Death Star was destroyed though with a time skip before Ashoka and Sabine depart to search for Ezra. You are marking time from the beginning of the series rather than the end.

You know, there's probably a lot of casuals watching that don't know who Ahsoka or who Thrawn is. Imagine their surprise when they see Thrawn?:p These are the kinds of characters coming in live action that you think about a lot, but know deep down that it'll never happen? Maybe not this season live action Thrawn, but the name has been dropped so who knows.

Same with me when in Solo
I saw Darth Maul. At that time I hadn't seen Clone Wars and Rebels.

Who took Grogu from the jedi temple? Perhaps someone like Cad Bane or was it said to be a jedi?

My take on the Jedi appearance in the temple is actually: no one. Ahsoka said it was for grogu to choose his path. And he is attached to Mando and doesn't seem interested in doing some Jedi training. So I'll bet he'll be choosing Mando and take training from him. Ahsoka doesn't believe in the jedi way as in the prequels and she definitely regrets leaving Anakin as we saw in rebels. So maybe she feels grogu is better off staying with mando for him not to feel alone the same way Anakin could have used a good friend.
Who knows maybe he'll be able to communicate with mando using the force, like him hearing grogu thanks to his connection and replying

I'm not up to speed with the Clone Wars or Rebeis. But I had been led to believe that Ashoka was someone who always tried to help people. But her purpose on Corvus seemed to be one of self interest and helping the citizens was just a by product of that. And she was fairly unenthusiastic about helping Din and Gorgu.

Maybe I was misinformed but, combat scenes aside, I felt Ashoka was low key almost to the point of blandness. And her role in the story seems to be another character who at the end goes "No I can't/won't do that, but you could try this other mission in the next episode". It truly is playing out like an RPG.

I want the season to end with Din deciding to keep Grogu as like an adopted son and defeat Moff so Grogu won't keep being a target and be the center focus of stories..but I also don't want Moff to get killed off! He can continue being the main baddie of the show and now go after Din for personal hatred or revenge than simply to get his hands on Grogu

I hope I'm right in saying, if Grogu is 50 years old, then he had 25 years of training on coruscant and 25 years being hidden before meeting Din. He used his power to save Din from the bighorn almost immediately. So, in spite of 25 years of being trained, Grogu formed an instant attachment to Din that makes it dangerous to train him further?

Like many force things, I'm happy to just call it an enigma. But seeing these shaky PT era plot excuses come back in is worrying. Unless its purpose is to show how Ahsoka is handicapped by Jedi dogma like Din is with "There's only one way" etc.

But then Ahsoka is not a Jedi any more. She even says Jedi ways are over. Wouldn't that logically open her up to being more unorthodox?

If only she knew that her master had a son who did not begin to train until he was almost fully mature. Which opens another can. How is she not aware that a Skywalker was a key figure in the Alliance victory?

Interesting connections with ‘The Magistrate’/Morgan Elsbeth, played by Diana Lee Inosato, who apparently worked on Alita: Battle Angel (uncredited), a film directed by Robert Rodriguez, who is directing one of the remaining chapters of The Mandalorian this season.

But even cooler, she is apparently the goddaughter of Bruce Lee, who would have been 80 years old yesterday, the day this (‘her’) chapter was first available. Nice, huh?

Din and Grogu have been through a lot together since that episode and it's not just about attachment. She explained clearly why she won't train him and it makes sense given not just because of Grogu but her experience.

Plus it makes sense to continue the story than end Din and Grogu's relationship already and at this time. As for Ahsoka and Luke, we don't know if she doesn't know anything about him and it she doesn't then well it's a huge galaxy and could have been doing her own things than read galactic internet news articles that happen to mention Luke Skywalker by name and his force abilities

So the reason she gave is an excuse and not the real reason? I hope that actually turns out to be acknowledged more in the show (like with luke in the sequel trilogy) and not just inferred subtext.

Is she aware that Anakin was not "fully trained" and skipped the early training that Grogu had 25 years of?

Isn't she in Rebels? Did she not participate in the rebellion? Her disinterest in the key strategic victories for the alliance is kind of odd don't you think?

I agree that the Din/Grogu story shouldn't just stop here. But the use of unquestioned dogma to dictate the plot is troubling to me unless it's to acknowledge that this kind of thing is a problem in universe too.

To my surprise, this morning when browsing the news feed, an article about the show came up ... in bulgarian language. A story of Ahsoka, it goes through her entire life until The Rise of Skywalker. It's in bulgarian but you can use google translate if you are interested.
I watched TRoS - not my favorite SW movie, but I didn't noticed that at the end there was also the voice of Ahsoka. That means something, right :(

    Here's the article: https://webcafe.bg/seriali/koya-e-zhenata-dzheday-asoka-ot-the-mandalorian.html

Here again the posts will be merged. I hate this, but this is how the site works. Sorry guys, just think of those as two separate posts!
    *********************************************************************************************************************************************************

I am sure that she knows about Luke. Everyone in the rebels/resistance etc. knows about him, and many knows him personally, he was a X-Wing pilot after all.
I tend to agree with those posts - I think the reason she doesn't want to train Grogu is because she fears it may happen what happened with Anakin. They had very strong connection and she was shattered when she knew he become Darth Vader, a machine killer, evil and twisted by the dark side. She will not risk this to repeat.
I think also that she feels the connection they have, Grogu and Din, and doesn't want to be the reason that they separate. Grogu needs a family, the baby is traumatized enough already, trained, hidden, kidnapped, who knows what else. He needs safety or Darth Grogu!
    --- Double Post Merged, Nov 28, 2020 ---
I think you are stretching it a bit. It is said Grogu is a foundling. I am quite ok with that, I think we should not push the dad thing too much or the show may become a spin off of "Desperate Housewifes" :D
For the part concerning the Moff, I am 100% with you, we need a strong, dark, powerful and resourceful villain in the show, someone who can posses real tread to Mando. Otherwise it will not be interesting.

I forgot about the book, and honestly the short Lekku have completely grown on me and i think Rosario is a perfect casting for live action Ahsoka, I couldn't be happier as someone who grew up with that character.

If anything It's made me like Rebels' art style a bit less.

It may be also anyone. I think it may become interesting if a dark user appear. Some of the sisters or brothers ... then we will have 2 big villains in the show, with different interests.
I try to push myself to see Grogu as Mandalorian warrior and ... fail. Sorry but this is funny. The species are relatively small and phlegmatic, I see Yoda walking slowly with his cane, I see the baby barely walking, can't imagine those to wear beskar armor and fight with physical means. Very strong in the force they are, this is what they become.
