Anakin/Maul

The polarity between Darth Vader (Anakin Skywalker) and Darth Maul is somewhat underrated, and this time twisted fan fiction taking place right after the first sound demise of Darth Maul finds the headstrong Anakin traveling back in time to engage with Maul to see if the Sith invasion of the Republic Senate can somehow be disoriented!

Anakin Skywalker was now a mature adult Jedi, though he was still under the apprenticeship of his wiser older master Obi-Wan. Anakin had trained to become a very skilled space pilot as well as light saber swordsman and combat fighter. Now that the Clone Wars were under way, Anakin was working alongside Obi-Wan to detangle and demistify some of the intrigue surrounding the eerie rise of the Sith. Now that the very dark Sith ghoul Darth Maul was disposed, despite having killed the great Jedi Qui Gon Jinn. Maul was gone, and the new Sith Lord Sidious was lurking somewhere, but it was unknown if this Sith, who trained Maul actually, was actually a deceptive member of the Senate, and the headstrong Anakin believed Chancellor Palpatine was perhaps Sidious but had no real proof.

Anakin decided to go to a wizard who lived on the outskirts of the Jedi galaxy Rai and consult with him about going through a time portal to go back in time and investigate if Darth Sidious was linked to Darth Maul through the Senate, to determine if Sidious was indeed Palpatine. The wizard agreed to open the time portal for Anakin but made him promise not to tell Obi-Wan of this magical favor. Anakin promised to keep the secret so he could do some nifty independent investigation and maybe even engage with Darth Maul himself and prevent the death of Qui Gon Jinn in the process. Anakin had always been headstrong and knew he wanted to turn the tables in some fashion in the Jedi favor and resolved to warn Qui Gon to be very wary of Palpatine who was then just a senator in the Old Republic.

When Anakin Skywalker arrived years before the beginning of the rise of the Sith, he noticed that Qui Gon had already taken him under his special tutelage alongside Obi-Wan, when he was still just a young boy, guiding him and encouraging his mother to allow the Jedi to train the gifted young boy. Anakin melts his distance from Qui Gon and decided instead to have a messenger send him a note regarding the potential corruption of Senator Palpatine and a proposed link between the Senate and the evil new Sith warrior Darth Maul. Then, Anakin set out to find Maul himself and try to engage with him, perhaps hoping to fight him and kill him and thereby prevent the very tragic death of the legendary Jedi Qui Gon. Anakin believed the gods were on his side now. He hopped onto a borrowed space cruiser and went hunting for Darth Maul.

Darth Maul was on the outskirts of a Jedi moon doing some dark investigations on the movements of the Jedi stand against Sidious and the new Sith. That's where Anakin Skywalker found the nefarious Sith warrior, who wielded a double edged red light saber, a two sided spear of sorts. Anakin sped up his cruiser to tag right behind Maul before firing a few friendly laser shots to dare the dark apprentice to deal with him one on one. When Maul noted this, he leaped out of his own hover bike and drew his double sided Sith spear saber. Anakin and Maul fought with each other for about 20 minutes, with Anakin wielding two Jedi sabers, one in each hand, skillfully returning each revolving turn of Maul's hellraising doubled spear with his own double saber sword, one in each hand, diagonal cross strike. Finally, Maul agreed to disarm to converse with the time traveling rebellious Jedi apprentice about the new Sith.

MAUL: Who're you, Jedi?
ANAKIN: I've traveled from the future!
MAUL: A time adventurer?
ANAKIN: Where is your master Sidious?
MAUL: I'm tracking Jedi orders for my master.
ANAKIN: Tell me if you're working in the Senate.
MAUL: My master has great underworld designs.
ANAKIN: I must defer you from invading the Senate.
MAUL: The days of this Old Republic are near their end, Jedi.
ANAKIN: You fight like a demon, Sith warrior!
MAUL: I serve the dark vision of my master.
ANAKIN: What're your intentions in the Senate?
MAUL: The Senate of the old order will be spun around.
ANAKIN: By whom?
MAUL: By the hands of the Sith and the vision of my master.
ANAKIN: Are you a messenger of trickery?
MAUL: Return to your own time, Jedi, and fight me later.
ANAKIN: I'm here on a secret mission to intercept darkness.
MAUL: Well, we shall see if your Jedi stand delivers some flags.
