(Opinion) Rogue One is peak Star Wars and a brilliant prequel to the OT.

R1 in my top three SW films, possibly even No.1 depending on my mood. Hopefully the Cassian spin-off adds to it and doesn’t take too much away from it...

If it helps, Tony Gilroy, who was one of the screenwriters for Rogue one as well as the first 3 Bourne movies, is the writer for Andor.

That can only be good news. Really excited about what they can do with the series.

    Greatest movie soundtrack ever recorded.

That vinyl ranks right up there with Orff's Carmina Burana and Tchaikovsky's Winter 13.

My mother often begged me to change records. "Or, turn it down!" -lol

From what has come out Gilroy directed about 20-40% of Rogue One as well due to the production issues. So it's great that he is involved in Andor.

I love Rogue One. After seeing all the others; I just love this film completely. It did everything that a movie should; story, character, music, dialogue, everything; it was great---it is the best. I love Phantom Menace just as much but Rogue one delivered on every level with that Vader scene where he shreds his enemies like pieces of cheese which also shows his power; true power. Fantastic stuff it is.

I thought it was an A class movie also !! The whole story of the Death Star plans and the way it flows directly into A New Hope ! And now we are getting Andor which will be crazy good aswell no doubt ! It was a beautiful movie with emotional scenes throughout ! Very gripping also !! :))

Rouge 1 couldn’t be a better gateway into the OT. Literally though because the end of Rouge 1 is minutes behind the beginning of ANH. Anyway, I love rouge one for many reasons. First, it shows the Rebellion and who they really are. In summary, they are just mere people sick of the empire. Yes these people are brave and fierce, but they are nobodies in comparison to most. Also, i love Cassian Andor. I think his show will be great. Lastly, the end scene is amazing. Truly it is a summary of wonderful filmaking. Seeing darth vader shread through rebel soldiers, as those soldiers fight, loosing their lives, to keep the rebellion alive fueled by the hope that they can someday, somehow defeat the empire. Anyway, I give the movie 9/10 and it really is an amazing prequel to the OT. I like to count Rouge 1 as part of the prequels to be honest.

I really like Rogue One and I would go as far as to say that the battle of Scarif is one of my all-time favourite space battles.

Yeah that battle was awesome. I liked how what happened on the ground was crucial to what would happen in space. And I love when the Star destroyers crashed into each other because of that rebel ship. Awesome!

Maybe Rogue Squadron will be good. But I'm not getting my hopes up, just to prevent disappointment.

Rogue One was fantastic, no doubt, but "peak" Star Wars? That trophy goes to the Lego Holiday Special. It's all about the Tip Yip!

Yeah that seems to be a common thing with Disney SW cherry picking from the old EU changing it and putting it back into canon.

Jenkins didn’t steal Rouge Squadron. Lucas Film already owned it & have now decided to use it by your definition Dave & anyone involved in Rebels stole Thrawn which makes absolute no sense
Sorry but that just my take on this.

which is absolutely fine by me.
I wonder if this was GL owned Lucas Film doing this would you have the same apparent problem of cherry picking thing from the old EU that you seem to have with its new owner.
For me it’s how the idea is executed rather then if it’s a brand new thing or something that previously existed in the old EU.

No because George did that all the time back in the day and despite the popular belief that he never cared about the EU at all he actually did and contributed a lot to it and SW for the most part had a consistent continuity and canon until TCW came along and messed everything up.
