I am. I'm half way through book 2 and I've purposely slowed down to let it all sink in. I blew through book one like a madman with my hair on fire (except I have no hair anymore so... ;) ). Damn, the more I read of this trilogy the more convinced I am that LFL should bring Drew K on board and have him do more. I've not been the biggest fan of the cannon books. Some are okay; I loved the Tarkin book as well as the two Rogue One books. However most just feel... I don't know how to put it. And I have to say I'm not liking what I've seen of the High Republic move, at least not so far. But damn this series is awesome.

I agree with all of this. As for canon books I think the comics have been much better than the novels overall, and like you I'm not drawn to the HR stuff, not yet at least. Drew is possibly my fave Star Wars author.

I have to say I haven't read any of the new comics. I really enjoyed a lot of what Dark Horse did back in the day, and while I understand why they moved it to Marvel, I wasn't thrilled with it.

I have to agree. Drew is a bad ass author. I really like his Star Wars work. Him and James Luceno really should be brought on board for some nu-cannon books.

I was shocked when they did the big release in the spring for the High Republic. The art was blah. My first reaction was "this is your best foot forward? THIS is what you put out on the big publicity day????" Heck even the description made me go blah! Avar Kriss is the best of the best? So, no story arc? Blah.

Anyway, this trilogy has me hooked. Sheesh. I might even go read some of Drew's non-Star Wars stuff after this.

I'll have to read those sometime.

As for Legends stuff that now has a chance of making into Canon...I sort of liked the Imperial Knights from the late Legacy stuff. I found them to be an interesting offshoot of the Jedi. I also found the Knights of Zakuul to be fascinating. I LOVE the idea of having different Force groups based around an idea, like the Green Lantern Corp of sorts.

Like the Jedi for peace & balance, the Sith for power and whatnot chaos, the Dathomir Witches for magic, and the Knights of Zakuul for Justice. It's such a cool concept to dig deeper into the philosophy of certain groups without having them declare one side or the other.

I can easily answer with Force Unleashed characters and events and whatnot. Matter of fact, Force Unleashed was cannon. But when Disney bought SW, it became legends. So galen merrick and his story as a trilogy or side film or show would be super cool. I don’t think that now is a time for this, but i hope that one day we can see something like this. Plus, come on, how cool would it be to get Rahm Kota in live action. And a Galen Merrick vs Vader duel.

    The Outrider with Dash Rendar!

I know it has technically appeared in Canon in ANH Special Edition but I'd love to see this make an appearance in the Mandalorian, Andor or the Book of Boba Fett.

Dash himself has already been recanonized in some tie-in material for Solo: A Star Wars Story and we have seen a lot of Corellian freighters like The Outrider, so I think it’s only a matter of time before we see the real deal. This War of the Bounty Hunter comic event would be the perfect time to bring him and Prince Xizor back into the fold.

Personally, I’d like Lucasfilm to either adapt or come up with recanonized versions of Darth Plagueus and the Darth Bane trilogy. I haven’t read much of Legends, and don’t really have interest in changing that, but those books were absolutely stellar.

How about the Old Republic? Thats a part of the SW timeline which hasn’t seen any cannon attention. I’d love to see an old republic time period set trilogy!

I had actually hoped this was the way the ST was to go. The NEXT thing; not a rehash of the last thing.

There were sculptures of them in Thrawn's quarters (or office or whatever) in Rebels. I don't recall any live creatures, though.

I like the tragic backstory and complex society (i.e. their relationship with the Empire) of the Noghri people. Now, It's unlikely we'll see that play out the same way in NuCanon, but I hope for a similar exploration into the sad, tragic history and culture of the Noghri. (Presumably, it will be Thrawn who's their "daddy" this time around, although... perhaps not)

I've been re-reading Star Wars Survivor's Quest since two days ago even today.

the Vagaari remind me of some other similar alien invaders from Thrawn Alliances and Thrawn Treason.

    Are they the same aliens?

I completely agree! The Darth Bane and Darth Plageus novels would also be awesome to see on the big screen!
    --- Double Post Merged, Jan 14, 2022, Original Post Date: Jan 14, 2022 ---
I think the original Thrawn Trilogy and Knights of the Old Republic 1+2 would be my favorite stories to adapt (although the jedi knight video game series, Darth Bane, and Darth Plageus Novels would be cool to see also). The Yuuzan Vong arc was a really cool concept that I think has a lot of potential for the big screen.
