    Mass Effect: Legendary Edition!

I'm slowly working my way through ME 1, and it's...not what I expected. I knew most of the characters don't blossom until ME 2, but I wasn't expecting them to be this way. Don't get me wrong, I still love my crew (well, Kaiden's sort of white bread plain, but he's a solid guy), but I think that's more of because I know who they become, not because I like them as they are. Except Wrex. I love Wrex.

The gameplay isn't bad, but I'm not a good player, so I die a fair amount. Being an Engineer was the right choice though, since I breeze through most Geth. In combat my teammates aren't the best, but they aren't the worst either. They're serviceable for the most part.

The story is pretty good too. I've been doing a lot of side-quests up front to build up my Charm and Paragon Points (I just got 12 Charm earlier today too! SUCK IT "YOU NEED NG+ TO GET MAX CHARM" GUIDES!), but it does halt the story to a bone-crunching grind. And despite all of the XP gained during these missions, I still don't feel overpowered. The weapons and mods I can buy are too expensive for me to buy often, I have no idea how to mod things yet, and having a full tech build means I'm pretty useless against Biotics and Krogans. I do have Neural Shock - and plan on taking it with me throughout the entire game - but that only works for so long.

The game feels quiet as well. The music is incredibly repetitive and dull at times, I'm not getting any elevator conversations despite me keeping the elevator conversation stuff on, and - and I can't believe I'm saying this, but - after playing Andromeda earlier this year I actually miss the unprompted conversations in the vehicle sections.

Speaking of the vehicle sections, those are easily the WORST part of the game. I cannot wait for ME 2 and ME 3 so I don't have to do them. And the worst part is that I wasn't checking every anomaly when I went planet-side to many planets, so I'll have to go back to pretty much every planet to complete certain quests. I'm saving this for the post-game 100%. All of that said, the driving isn't the worst part, nor is the silence. No, the worst parts are the maps. These maps are awful, and combined with bad vehicle controls, you're left with multiple negative experiences. I can't wait to be done with these, and I dread having to do these on repeat playthroughs. Hopefully the distance of ME 2, ME 3, and any other games I play in the meantime will help refresh me before I have to dive back in.

Speaking of future playthroughs, there have been points in my current playthrough where I already started looking forward to my next one. You see, I play Paragon Shepard 100% of the time. Being the Bad Guy in videogames physically hurts me, so I stay away from it. (Besides, I like Paragon for the most part.) That doesn't mean I won't do some Renegade prompts, but I'm not going to be heartless in my games either. But while I've been playing this playthrough, I've come up with a full head-canon for M!Shep and Fem!Shep, and it's glorious to me, as it encompasses all three backgrounds and all three battles. (Skip the next two to three paragraphs if you want the TL;DR.)

Basically, John and Jane Shepard (who is a Vanguard Biotic, Pistol-Sniper user in my head) were raised by their military parents until their father decided to retire and settle down on a little colony called Mindoir. The two were there visiting their father when the Batarian slavers attacked. Their father died defending the colony. John was taken after hiding Jane, but was able to escape and crash land on Earth. Meanwhile Jane stayed with her mother in Space. On Earth, John was pressured to join a gang once some people threatened to use his connection to the military for their own gain. These two experiences shaped the two youths differently. While Jane learned that procedure and politicking won't always get the job done, while John learned that having a family where you are makes one a force to be reckoned with. Ultimately, John escaped Earth and the gang when he turned 18, and was reunited with his twin sister and mother. (Jane's relationship with their mother is strained, but they do love each other.)

However, tragedy didn't end there for the two - John later lost his whole squad to Thresher Maws. John was reassigned to Elysium for a softer mission for the time being. Jane decided to visit her brother, and during that time the Skyllian Blitz happened. Jane roused John in order to help those who could be helped, and the two became the Heroes of the Skyllian Blitz. However, Jane's thirst for vengeance over her father's death was not sated (nor would it ever be). So when the attack on Torfan happened, Jane was the first to volunteer, and the first in the fight. And thus, the Butcher of Torfan was born.

The two work as a team more often than not, and John is the face of the duo since he's far less controversial than his sister, despite he only being a Commander and she actually being a Captain.

Long story short, I'm playing as Spacer-Hero Paragon M!Shep now, but I really want to play as my Colonist-Butcher Paragade (well, mostly Paragon with a more than average - for me - Renegade option) Fem!Shep soon. Accidentally playing and beating the Bring Down the Sky DLC didn't help with that AT ALL. There were so many Batarians, and all I could think about is how my Fem!Shep would gleefully kill them all, even if she didn't have to.* ...I also really miss my Biotic Charge ability...

(My next M!Shep playthrough will be Earthborn-Sole Survivor, and I'll probably romance Miranda for the irony.)

Ultimately, Mass Effect 1 isn't proving to be my favorite ME game, but I'm looking forward to seeing the building off of the foundations laid here. Mass Effect 1 is also convincing me that Andromeda needs a sequel more than ever. Sure, Andromeda doesn't have the spark that ME 1 does, but it's characters and overall story should definitely be given a chance to grow and improve. Garrus and Tali are cool in the first game, but it's their loyalty and dedication in the second game that people praise them for. Wrex is awesome in the first game, but seeing how that game has changed him into a better man in the second and third games is why we love him. Anderson is cool and all here, but it's his actions in the third game that cement him as one of the best father-figures in videogame history. Not to mention that we meet so many cool and amazing characters in the second game - Jack, Miranda, Thane, Grunt (aka our special Krogan son), Mordin, EDI...the list can go on. The point is, the Mass Effect franchise showed promise in 1, but bloomed in 2 - who are we to refuse Andromeda the same chance?

*Although I may still take the Paragon route for this and justify it by saying Jane wouldn't sacrifice civilians for her grudge. Soldiers are one thing, but civilians shouldn't carry that burden.

Yep. Hitman 3 is their last Hitman game for a while (there putting that series on a break for the moment) and they'll be working on a James Bond game instead called Project 007. Their version of Bond is suppose to be an original take of the character. It's the first Bond game that won't be tied to any specific actor and or movie. It's going to be interesting to see what they'll do.

I'd like a game where I can create my own 007.

That would be cool. This suppose to be an origin story and based on how they talk about the series, it's possible that there will be a series or something.

I downloaded this game which was free for PS Plus subscribers, didn’t enjoy the game play, as a Conan fan this game was bit underwhelming, I played for a few hours but never had the urge to play again, that was a few years ago, is this a new version or saga of the game?

Well maybe you played the beta/game preview version and now it's the full version with updates that has improved the game but I also just played a bit.

It's just a generic survival clone version of Ark but in Connan's universe. It's okay but there definetly needs to be a new single player action/adventure game where you actually get to play as him. Last one was on PS3 and Xbox 360 like over 10 years ago or something

I'm alternating between Battlefront 2, Mass Effect 3, and Sekiro. I tried Dark Souls 3 but couldn't even beat the first boss and leave the starting area. Sekiro is okay, it feels a lot like Fallen Order, but I got tired of having to constantly repeat the same area and kill the exact same guys after losing a fight with a boss (the one after the first Ogre encounter). Mass Effect 3 I just can't stick with. I've played through the trilogy numerous times but can't seem to get motivated to finish my playthrough of ME 3 for the Legendary Edition. I get bogged down in worrying about the war assets & "side quests" and whether or not I've gotten/missed them or if I can't access them yet; objective tracking in ME3 is awful.

ME 3 is bad, but I think it's FAR better than ME 1. I'm on my second playthrough of MELE and I'm HATING the ME 1 stuff. There are a max of three side-quests that I'm looking forward to in this game, and if it wasn't for them, I'd skip this game entirely. At least ME 3 shows you how much of a system has been explored (and you don't have to worry about which planets you have to land on, and what you'll find), and the IGN guides aren't bad. ...although I should probably look up a guide for ME 1...
