All Star Wars content makes us feel a wide variety of emotions. There is no shortage of scenes that can make the waterworks run, so what scenes make you guys feel the most emotional? These moments could be from any of the films, shows, games, books, comics, etc.

I’ll go first. This is a small moment that makes me teary eyed every time I rewatch the Siege of Mandalore.

    upload_2021-10-19_13-37-41.jpeg

After seven seasons worth of storytelling, this is the last time Ahsoka and we the audience see the light in this version of Anakin Skywalker. The characters don’t know what’s about to happen and you just want them to have a grand goodbye with a hug or something. This is the end of a wonderful friendship between these two characters and so much is left unsaid. It’s even framed the same way as their next encounter in Rebels.

    upload_2021-10-19_13-39-19.jpeg

Of course, the Siege of Mandalore had other emotional moments like the scene between Rex and Ahsoka in the finale or the Burying the Dead scene, but this one really takes the cake for me. It’s such a foreboding, bittersweet moment.

Great suggestions so far. I think I might agree with Luke and Leia on Crait (especially from a meta-analysis, given Carrie's passing) but if I had to come up with another one...

Specifically, when this logo came up on my first TFA viewing. The theater went dead silent, and a second later the Star Wars fanfare and crawl started.

    Star Wars was back, baby!

Someone bring me back to that day.

Well, my favorite scene with no doubt was always Luke staring the binary sun in Tatooine. The shot is beautiful and the music makes it perfect.
    Screenshot_20211019-233539_Chrome.jpg

But, then...the Sequel Trilogy was released and know I have three favourites scenes.

Rey using the force to take the Skywalker saber to her hands and that music again...oh man, it gives me goosebumps.
    Screenshot_20211019-234008_Chrome.jpg

And to finish another one with Luke. All the sequence of his apparition on Crait. Luke showing up, goodbye kiss on Leia, blink to C3P0, walking without rush to face the first order, toying with Kylo, surprise "I am just a force projection", and dying in Ach Too.

Im not an emotional guy. One scene that almost got me was when Din Djarin and Grogu said goodbye.

I don't even like Baby Yoda or even the Mandalorian that much. Seeing a grown man saying goodbye to a Muppet Baby, that was like his kid/dog/ friend, almost got me.

    Yoda's death
    Darth Vader's death
Obi Wan talking to Vader after he cut his limbs off
    Han's death
Padme watching the Jedi temple burn and not knowing if Anakin was ok
    Order 66 montage

Sadly, Luke, Leia and Ben Solo's death didn't cause any emotional response.

A New Hope - Binary Sunset
    7uey9ztirc9y.png

We probably all know or knew this very situation. The desire for adventure and something new. Then that score. It always makes me emotional.

Return of The Jedi - Vader's Funeral

This is the conculsion of the binary sunset for me. Again very emotional.

It's weird but this was the most emotional moment in TFA for me (together with the TIE fighter escape of Poe and Finn). At this very moment I knew- yes, Star Wars is back.

It was when Finn and Poe are reunited on D'Qar that I realised things were on the right track. It was the first time I had been actually moved by Star Wars in about twenty odd years.

I had to agree, I think this is the most poetic scene in all the movies
    [IMG]

But if I had to pick the scene I'm most related to, I have to choose the duel between Anakin and Obi Wan
    [IMG]
And it's a very personal choice, because I have a stubborn brother who I always fight with and we can't get along.
It's a weird relationship, because I think Obi Wan and Anakin are the only characters who feel like family, like two brothers.
Luke and Leia are actually brothers but they certainly don't behave like that. And also Dark Father ... is never a father ... what he does to prove is "fatherhood"? Save Luke from the Emperor? Anyone else with a heart will save another human from being tortured to death. We can argue that Luke acts like a son trusting that he is still "something good" in his father. But if you think about Luke he didn't know what Anakin was like before he turned into the dark side, so the fact that he trusts a stranger doesn't make any sense ... really ...

From the context of only having of the OT and knowing he ends up becoming Darth Vader this scene always gets to me. John Williams really added to it with the music.

I finished rewatching Rebels last weekend.

I definitely need to mention Kanan’s death here. That scene hit me hard this most recent rewatch. It’s telegraphed very clearly that Kanan knows that this will be his last mission but his sacrifice still makes my eyes water. Not only does he save his adopted family, he jeopardizes the TIE Defender program. Had those ships gone into production, the Rebels definitely wouldn’t have been able to win the war so Kanan’s sacrifice gives them a fighting chance.

    upload_2021-11-14_3-13-11.png

When his eyesight returns in his last moments, it doesn’t turn back to brown, as they were before he went blind. They turn blue, telegraphing his reincarnation to the wolf Dume:

What makes it even more heart wrenching is how the next episode stops and lets the characters mourn his death. Hera adding him to her family Kalikori is such a beautiful moment.

    upload_2021-11-14_3-14-51.png

And this scene at the end of World Between Worlds gets the tears flowing again as Ezra finally accepts Kanan’s death and says goodbye to his master and father figure.

I have to agree with you. The bond between Obi-Wan and Anakin was strong and is the quintessential, almost brotherly, connection. Both Anakin and Obi-Wan knew each other not only through the force, but also through all of the “adventures” that they have endeavored. As cliche as it is, I’d have to say Darth Vader’s birth on Coruacant is the scene that takes the cake for me.

Excerpt from the The Clone Wars Book 1(I don't believe/can't remember this being in the movie version).

Context: Ashoka and Anakin have just finished the Battle of Christophsis, their first together as Master and Padawan.

“I was just keeping up their morale,” Ahsoka said. “They need to know we take the same risks that they do. That we’ll sit down and talk to them, and know their names, instead of just snapping our fingers and calling them clone. Nobody likes being treated as if they don’t matter.”
For all her bluster, she had her very adult, perceptive moments. Anakin knew how it felt not to matter. "Well... they seem to like you. That’s good.”
Ashoka: “They’ve lost so many of their friends. Can’t you feel their pain?”
“They’re soldiers,” Anakin said. “It’s the job.”
Ashoka: “It’s yours, too, but you hurt all the time.”

Brings tears to my eyes every time.
