    I loved squid game. At first I thought it was lame, but after red light green light the show got more action packed. Seong ge hun (main character) started out as a scum bag, but ended up really lovable and relatable. A lot more so than everyone else in the Game, with the exception of the "old man". I knew from the beginning "001" meant something. And it did.

    Omg it's such a thriller, what do yall think?

    I really liked this show from the very beginning.
    The problem to me was the tension, my anxiety went up in every episode.
    Great actors, lines and story.

    I had a clue, since I saw the first episode, about the 001 but that didn't ruin the show to me.

    For the second season we will have a "new" big boss and we will see if the murder of his brother will affect him during the next games.

    That's why I could not continue watching the first episode I turned it off. He reminded me of a childhood friend who would go into his mother's bag and take large amounts of cash when I came over for a visit.

    He told me his mother left large amounts of money in her bag and she allowed him to take as much as he wanted which I did not believe for some reason. (my mother would skin me alive if I ever did anything like that... hehe)

    When he came to school with expensive items like comic books that I could not afford on my allowance I knew how he acquired the funds.

    any who, that scene where Seong ge hun takes his mother's credit card really bothered me, and how he tried to figure out the code at the ATM was enough for me... shows are subjective and for me I could not stomach it.

    I know its the most popular show on Netflix and several of my co-workers have recommended it but its not for me...

    You have to watch the full episode to understand why. 5 minutes later he gets chased by the loan sharks and force him to sign a waver to give up his kidney and eye, to sell to the Chinese as compensation for his debts. That's a pretty desperate situation.

    What makes it more tragic is when he wins the game with 38 million dollars, he goes back home to find his mother dead on the floor. He wanted to help his mother and pay for the operation she needed but he was too late. But a year later he makes up for all the bad things he had done. He adopts seybok?'s north korean brother, and hands him over to his best friends mother along with half of his winnings.

    I doubt there will be a second season. It took something like ten years to write the first season, so they'd have to have multiple writers, and it just wouldn't be the same.
    Having said that I don't think the cop is dead. In the show, you can't assume anyone is dead unless you actually see them die. Like the old man, and the crazy lady when she didn't pair up with a partner. We all assumed they died, but they didn't. He got shot in the shoulder, assuming the coast guard equivalent showed up he could have survived. He shot his brother in the same place, and he survived.

    I never saw Seong as a scumbag, just someone who had problems and made bad decisions. He's a good and caring person at heart who just wants to be a good father to his daughter. Perhaps the main reason I like Squid Game so much is because the players feel like real people with real problems, making them very relatable and believable.

    Anyways, one of the best shows I've ever watched - the acting, music and writing (apart from the detective subplot) all Brilliant.

    the detective aspect was a bit hit and miss, but the thing that really seemed pointless to me was the soldiers and player/surgeon with their side hustle. how did they every get the opportunity to coax him into getting involved and why would he or they risk everything for that?

    I completely forgot about that part, which says it all I guess. Maybe if they cut that out the detective/brother thing would've felt less forced?
