If it was MCU, and we were getting three movies per year - then sure, make Bobba Fett, IG-88 and Lando movies, then have them team up against Darth Maul in a crossover. But if we are to get one movie per year, let it be something grand, new and important.

And here's something to remember the proposed main character of a movie.

Okay so, you're bored with a character that has what, two-three minutes screentime? So I'm presuming that characters with more screentime than that are absolutely exhaustively boring. So, extras? Extras are exciting? We do spin-offs about extras? "Boba Fett doesn't have enough backstory for a spin-off"? What, does that even mean? The spin-off is where you introduce the backstory.

I'd be in favor of "No More Aping the OT In Every Single Regard."

I'd get that tattooed on the LFL executives' foreheads, if it helped enforce the message.

Well my view has changed somewhat. I'd love a spinoff which explores the underworld in general (Jabba, Boba and the other bounty hunters) but I don't want the whole thing to revolve around Boba. I don't want this whole porn-like "WOAH look at this!" thing with him (like they kinda did with Lando)

It has to make sense and use characters properly.

I think people have a fear of backstory on some characters. I don't think the prequels helped, as Anakin was a bit of a disappointment for many.

I'm not opposed to Fett story, but I hope they'd keep Fett as Fett and not the kid who only becomes Fett for 2 minutes at the end, kicking butt and leaving fans to wonder why they didn't do that all movie instead of just 2 minutes worth at the end. I don't want Fett unmasked, doing dopey eyes at some girl, or whining about power converters to Jabba.

In that sense, I don't think they should make a Fett movie per se, but a movie where Fett is highly implicated in and shines, as Fett, not as that guy who takes off the Fett mask and is humanized.

Boba Fett as a kid was already explored in the Clone Wars, so I don't think they are going that route again. Besides, Fett's whole appeal is based on his cool armour. so it makes no sense from a business perspective to make a movie without him wearing it.

I don't disagree that's something that may be a factor. Though in relation to Boba Fett it's one of those things where, he was pretty much chumped in RotJ and as mentioned by Jack, the prequels pretty much did as much demystification of the character as can be done. So in the case of fearing a Fett movie I'd really have to say, what's left to be afraid of? It's almost like there's no where to go but up from here. Surely the priority with a Fett movie would be to undo any perceived damage and restore the cool factor to the character. That would seem to me a no-brainer.

Yeah I don't think those would be at the top of my, "cool Fett movie ideas" list either.

    Sounds good to me.

Its an interesting question. Should there be a film, or in this case, a series based around Boba Fett? I don't know. I think I liked him being sort of this man of mystery type character. And I think I'd much rather see him doing the bounty hunter thing in the days of the empire. Like leave him dead. Yeah, the death was weak AF but characters need to stay dead (I'm looking at you Palpatine).

Having said that, of course I'm gonna watch Book of Boba Fett. LOL

I don't mind another production about Boba Fett. Just leave out Din Djarin and Grogu.

The Book of Boba Fett may not be what most fans wanted, for me, I enjoyed the evolution of the character. Season 2 ep. 7 of the Mandalorian depicted an older bad-ass Boba Fett which I believe the fans wanted more of.

I believe that changing the actor of Boba Fett, and utilizing the actor's voice for the clone troopers and stormtroopers bothered some fans, but I still believe LFL can create a series during the Original trilogy era that can depict a younger more seasoned Boba Fett... it can still be done, so for now I enjoy the actor and series as is.

the Book of Boba Fett was a serial in the vein of comic books of old which I appreciated. Dark Horse Comics' Star Tales did a great job of depicting Star Wars characters without the restraints of canon, so I've enjoyed off-shoot tales of Star Wars for years.

Temuera Morrison has been a part of the Star Wars franchise for quite a while. He has portrayed Jango Fett, the clones and Boba (who is technically a clone) in the live action productions the past twenty years. Since 2002. Jeremy Bulloch had portrayed Boba between 1980 and 1983.

The Book of Boba Fett was, in my mind, a much better choice than a feature film would have been. If nothing else, it told the story that everyone had wanted since 1983 of Boba surviving the sarlacc. No "damage" was done to the character. He was still just as bad-ass as he was in ESB, yet his persona is now more fleshed out and humanized. Yes, he was nothing but an action figure that many of us stalked the mailman for back in 1980, but now he has a solid footing in canon and the possibility of new stories going forward in what appears to be very fertile ground in the SW timeline.

That's the point. To many of us, the PT is recent history, and Tem Morrison is "new" to the role. He is amazing, and the fact that he is able to play the grown son of his original character, is absolutely a bright spot to the whole sometimes-hard-to-swallow clone part of Boba's origin. Morrison has truly taken ownership of the role and with such a solid talent, the storytelling options are vast.

I said it when the show was airing and I'll say it until I don't believe it anymore - I honestly think TBOF would have worked a LOT better as a videogame. Any pacing and flashback issues would have been solved, the world of Tatooine and its underbelly could have been delved into more deeply, and players get all the bad mamma-jamma Boba Fett they want without it feeling like Mandalorian 2.5.

We won't be living that dream anytime soon... Jedi: Surviver is just around the corner, but you have peaked my interest... why not both? Jedi: Surviver is being marketed with a book release a week before release... I get your point! A Book of Boba Fett console game would have been much more satisfying.

To be perfectly honest, TBoBF has, IMHO, been the possibly most interesting show to date, going in very different directions and trying different things. Sure, there are stuff that felt sub-par, and it crashed back into familiar (and quite awsome TBH) territory towards the end, but MAN did this show dare to try stuff! We got a handful of episodes exploring Sand People culture in-between the more standard hero story beats, and that's pretty amazing if you ask me! No, I admire TBoBF quite a lot, TBH. Give me more deep dives, please!

Yes! After my marathon rewatch of Mando and Boba, I've gotta say that BoBF definitely felt much better than originally. It's just good SW. You hit on the specifics, basically it feels like they just decided to do whatever they wanted, which was great, and they came to the realization that haters gon hate, but the real fans will take it for what it was. Not every story requires a long-term storyline or tight, dramatic dialogue to tell a good story. I have some other insights to the series, but I'll save those for a more appropriate thread.
