The holidays are upon us! Time to put on a sweater, hunker in from the cold, and look for some comfort in your favorite things from the galaxy far, far away. For some, that might mean marathons of your favorite Star Wars trilogy or series. Maybe others might re-read a few Star Wars novels or comics gathering dust on their bookshelf. And for the first time, a series of delicious holiday recipes celebrating Life Day with The Life Day Cookbook, by Jenn Fujikawa and Marc Sumerak, from Insight Editions!

With accomplished food writer Jenn Fujikawa constructing the recipes, these sound delicious. Whether it's an appetizer course for your guests to nibble on or a full feast fit for a family of Wookiees, The Life Day Cookbook has you covered. Writer Marc Sumerak returns, adding in the backstory of Chef Strono Tuggs trying to throw a Life Day Celebration at Black Spire. This book reads as a survey of the recipes he's collected over the years.

My partner, Jenn, and I attempted making some Kabatha Crips and streamed it on my Twitter account recently. While we're not used to the camera, the recipe is very accessible and easy to follow.

As you can see, we had a lot of fun, despite being a bit camera shy. And the Kabatha Crisps were delicious. My son had a bunch of them for dessert and breakfast, and he's a picky eater, so that's a not-so-humble brag from me. Also, the dietary adjustments we made still brought out a great batch of treats.

There's also a great collection of drink recipes included. While our busy schedule doesn't allow us to do a Star Wars cooking show everyday, we are looking forward to exploring more of these drinks and recipes. The recipes compiled by Jenn Fujikawa use a diverse list of ingredients, so you'll always have something new to try. We've already earmarked pages we are hoping to try this month.

Not only is this a great collection of recipes, it's a gorgeous addition to your cookbook stash. Insight Editions continues their tradition of putting all the touches on every fine detail discerning Star Wars readers seek. Each recipe in itself is a short story, adding to the greater tree of tales in the galaxy far, far away. Not only do you get to read about the history of each dish, you get to taste it for yourself!

This is a great present to get yourself or those you'd like to share your kitchen with. Whether you're cooking solo or with a group, The Life Day Cookbook will have something great to offer everyone. Hope your holiday season is off to a great start, Star Wars fans!
