Halo Infinite, and I'm quite enjoying the campaign refreshing!

Hey, quick question. Would you recommend Fallen order I've seen people say it's a pretty good game with an amazing story?

I finished the Guardians of the Galaxy game recently, and it was excellent. Also, did my third playthrough Sony's Spider-Man, focusing mainly on the story this time. Man, I wish there were more supervillain boss fights in that game.

I tried Kurosawa Mode in Ghost of Tsushima last night. It was pretty cool, but there's no way that I could play the entire game that way.

Nice! I definitely want to pick it up sometime. I was a huge Halo fan back in the Halo 3 days, and have played everything since. Definitely a nostalgia trip for me every time a new one comes out.

I know I'm not who you asked, but Iove it. I'm not sure I'd say the story is "amazing", but it's pretty good, with some excellent moments. The platforming and "Metroidvania" elements of it will either be your favorite aspect, or a hinderance to an otherwise great game. I was worried it would play like Dark Souls, but it definitely felt less arcadey to me, and the lower difficulty levels are pretty forgiving. Even so, don't expect to be running around like Starkiller from the old Force Unleashed games. Cal is significantly less powerful than him, and frankly I think the game is better off for it.

My sister gifted me a copy at Christmas and I've still not got around to installing it yet - is it less linear than the Avengers game?

I jumped from PS to Xbox platforms after the PS2, so I've never played either of these - but so many people recommend them that I'm tempted to sniff out a cheap 2nd hand PS4 just to give them a go!

I'll definitely have to give this game a chance I loved Battlefront and Kotor. Thank! Much appreciated. :D

Hmm... I'm not really sure how to answer that. It'd definitely a linear game in the sense that it's not open world. It's more like something like The Last of Us or the new God of War, than anything. It's definitely not like the Avengers game, though.

I was concerned with it at first, given how you only play as Star Lord, but the game handles that really well. While you don't directly control anyone, your role as Star Lord is more about navigating the battlefield and issuing orders to your team. You have blasters too, but your real strength comes from Starlord's leadership skills- it's definitely a more unique combat system than the standard third-person shooter that I expected.

And of course, the soundtrack is fantastic.

I'd say it's probably worth it. PS4 also nets you TLOU and its sequel, as well as God of War (which is maybe my favorite game of this generation). Horizon is also all right, too.

I'm currently playing Kotor 2 on my ipad pro (with the restoration mod installed), hooked up with a 60Hz usb-c to HDMI adapter into my TV with a ps4 controller connected via bluetooth. It's probably the best performing version of the game that I've seen yet (and I've played the PC version many times)! It's running at an unclocked framerate, and I haven't encountered any bugs at all (not even the dialogue skipping glitch which can sometimes happen on the PC version). :)

I'm still "playing" Cyberpunk, though I haven't actually played it in a couple of weeks. I got kinda burnt out and bored of it. I'm towards the end (I think) but have done all the side characters quests and stuff, all that's left are the repetitive "go here and kill/find/fight X". Also got tired of having to wait an unknown amount of time for someone to call me to progress the main story.

As for what I'm actually playing, I've been on a Guitar Hero kick for the past couple of days. Been replaying 3, World Tour, 5, and Van Halen (the only one's I have). It just sucks that the servers were taken down so I can't download tracks. Also, my 360 won't connect to my Wifi for some reason (I've read it has something to do with 2.5 vs 5 ghz signal) and it apparently won't recognize the 1 track I *do* have downloaded (the Halo theme in GH 3).

New Game+ for Horizon: Zero Dawn. Just playing Hard mode, not Ultra Hard.

I wanted a science fantasy game that I could enjoy and a game to play that would hold me over until Pokémon Legends: Arceus later this week. I was starting to feel a little burnt out on Mass Effect 2, since I had just beaten last month, and then went straight into ME 1 and then back into ME 2. I booted up Andromeda for a bit, but I got bored of that about 15 minutes in. HZD was my last resort choice, and it was the best choice for me. I'm pretty hooked already and probably will spend half of my free time playing HZD and the other half with PLA. (Or I may play PLA, come back to HZD, and then play PLA again.)

I'm a little afraid I'll have to replay the game again if there are any save bonuses for the PS5, but that won't be too much of a problem...I hope...I really like my Shield Armor though, and it was such a pain to get the first time around...then again, I beat most of the game without it once, I can do it again! And replaying it on the PS5 next year may be fun!

Pokemon Legends: Arceus, aka the reason I haven't been as active recently. I'm really enjoying this game. It's the best Pokemon game since Sun/Moon IMO (and possibly for an even longer time for those who didn't like Gen 7 or ORAS), and one that I hope future games take the blueprint of for later works.*

I'll have more to say on this once I beat the story and some of the post-game stuff, but I will say these quick things:

This is NOT an open-world Pokemon game. It's more akin to what I've heard about Monster Hunter, where you go into areas and battle monsters there, and then return to a home base.

This is also not the first time Pokemon has done something like that. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon was built pretty similarly, so this game seems to be an evolution of that more than anything else. (Well, more like fusion of that and the Let's Go franchise format.) The story for the first PMD game and PLA is also very similar; but saying anymore would ruin both.

This game is NOT a cakewalk, or at least not all the time. Certain Pokemon will attack the player, there are bosses that can be quite difficult, and Pokemon will most definitely gang up on you if given the chance. Time-Space Distortions and Mass Outbreaks are the worst offenders at this, but also your best chance at finding Shiny Pokemon or rare Pokemon. It's a nice risk-reward system, but one that has brought me equal amounts of joy and frustration. (Now that I'm higher leveled, it's more of an annoyance than anything.) They've also smoothened out the difficulty curve some. Early on, Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee was very easy. I heard that the same was true for the Diamond/Pearl remakes. Here, it's both easy and difficult to get over -eveled in an area, but there's always a bigger fish. (That you can catch eventually.)

Hisuian Arcanine is awesome, and Hisuian Zorua has a very nice type combination.

This is the first Pokemon game that I actually want to replay in years also. Or at least partially. The bad news is that there aren't multiple save slots. There never are in Pokemon...however, apparently saves are linked to Switch profiles, so if you create a new profile on the Switch, you can start up a new game. Guess who's gonn a try that out later this month or year?:p

The tone is more mature. It's still for kids, but it also doesn't shy away from themes you wouldn't really expect in Pokemon. (Death, generational conflict, being an outsider (early on this wasn't helped by my character's darker skin, adding an uncomfortable but realistic layer to the story), and religious ideological splits.)

Now, things I want to talk about in a proper review:

Story, music, Pokemon design, things that a sequel could improve on, my own ideas for potential sequels, how this game makes one feel/what this game really is/why this game is what it is.

*Probably not until a proper sequel or Gen 10, sadly. Gen 9 is most likely already in development - when this game leaked, several dataminers found out that key members of the Pokemon production staff weren't involved in this game, implying that they were working on something else. Hopefully they're still early enough along that they can get some feedback from this game's reception and incorporate it into the next games, but I won't hold my breath.

I fragging hate the gameplay in that otherwise really good game! They chose to torpedo the story with nonsense obstacle courses every single time that the tension ramped up and the story got good. At the very least, there should've been a "you've failed three times in a row now... Do you want to skip ahead?"-option in the game

I like the platforming in JFO but it is a bit overkill at times, combat is great though.
