    If there's no writer attached, then it's definitely not the third standalone, but something coming out later. This also suggests that the third film will probably be about bounty hunters.

    It would be really odd if they announced the fourth one before the third one (and by "announced" I also mean a semi-official THR report). It's also possible that THR is describing the stage of the project from months back and maybe now there is a writer.

    By the way, I'm curious how will they make it official. There's no convention any time soon. Maybe a simple starwars.com entry this time.

    Breznican echoes that this is in very early stages. I hear in my mind Obi Wan's voice about being mindful and having patience or something like that.

    If this is true, then this to me is the best news I have heard from LF. Look, I will be honest; SWs, much as I love it; I haven't really into it, movie wise. The films have ranged from bad to good, TFA being the former and Rogue One being so far my favorite of the Disney led films. Han Solo, I do not care for, as I never cared for the character. But outside the films, the NC has been solid, I particularly, loved Thrawn and even the latest Inferno Squad book. But I digress.

    If there is any character who deserves a standalone, it is Obi-wan. I argue next to Luke, he is by far the most important character in the franchise. He actively shaped both Skywalkers and his influence is even felt in the ST with Kylo Ren. Much as I think the name on him is dumb. But really, aside from there being a story to tell, I can see this movie being amazing.

    Why? Because it could be a smaller more personal story. SWs in movie form has NEVER had that. Seriously, every movie so far has been grandiose, galaxy wide stakes. And while nice, SWs is a huge world. Focus on the smaller aspects. They are what make up the big world, after all. And really, if we look at something like the MCU, Spider-man Homecoming did exactly what I explained.

    And look how well-received that movie was? Obi-wan has similiar potential. So yes, I wholehearly support this movie.With McGregor hopefully in the lead, this will be a movie that I will see day one, opening weekend. Because, Obi-wan story deserves to be concluded in a more fulfilling way, along with us seeing how he became Ben Kenobi. :)

    The sad thing is, though... even if this show delivers as well or above its hype, catering to all generations of fans, and all that... there're are still going to be fans throwing poop and shade around the fandom *sad-LOL* :p

    Seriously, though! OWK is gonna be mad emotional and a whole lot of awesome! :D I hope each episode is 3 hours long!!!

    Just don't be like me and constantly compare the show to the trilogy planned in your head!
    Jokes aside, yeah, this show will probably be the hardest show around to NOT do that to. Kenobi was probably one of the most requested spin-off characters, and there's a lot of hope and expectation riding on this, regardless of whether or not its warranted.

    Just a random thought from earlier today:

    I was thinking about how if the Obi-Wan Kenobi show takes place mostly on Tatooine and people don't complain about it, then maybe it's not Tatooine that's the problem, but the stories and characters set on it. Granted, this show taking place mostly on Tatooine isn't a guarantee; and I have kept away from most leaks and rumors about this show because I want to be surprised, so I honestly don't know.
